Efficiency of Recurrent Genomic Selection in Panmictic Populations
Simulation-based studies can support breeders’ decisions inexpensively, since there is no need to perform a new procedure. The objective was to assess the efficiency of recurrent genomic selection in panmictic population under additive–dominance and additive–dominance with epistasis models.

Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Recurrent selection for protein yield in oat
Three S[subscript]1-recurrent selection programs to increase protein yield of oat (Avena sativa L.) were conducted for five cycles of selection. The selection criteria in each program (line of descent) emphasized different components of protein yield ...

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

Research Notes: Recurrent selection for yield in soybeans
Recurrent selection procedures have had limited application in soybean improvement (Kenworthy, 1976). Despite the procedural difficulties, theoretical considerations suggest an advantage for recurrent selection in supplementing standard breeding ...

Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Effect of recurrent selection on the variability of the UENF-14 popcorn population
This study aimed to evaluate the effect of recurrent selection on the genetic variability of UENF-14 population after six selections. Two hundred and ten half-sib families were evaluated in two environments in the state of Rio de Janeiro, using ...

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Heritability estimated from recurrent selection experiments in maize
Estimates of heritability allow breeders to calculate expected progress from selection relative to germplasm sources, the type of breeding procedure used to improve the germplasm, and the amount of testing of genetic material. The objective of this study
