Effect of recurrent selection on the variability of the UENF-14 popcorn population
This study aimed to evaluate the effect of recurrent selection on the genetic variability of UENF-14 population after six selections. Two hundred and ten half-sib families were evaluated in two environments in the state of Rio de Janeiro, using ...

Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

Efficiency of Recurrent Genomic Selection in Panmictic Populations
Simulation-based studies can support breeders’ decisions inexpensively, since there is no need to perform a new procedure. The objective was to assess the efficiency of recurrent genomic selection in panmictic population under additive–dominance and additive–dominance with epistasis models.

Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Viability of the UENF popcorn improvement program based on divergence in S1 families
With the objective of evaluating the viability of the program of recurrent selection with popcorn of the Universidade Estadual do Norte Fluminense Darcy Ribeiro carried out in Campos dos Goytacazes and Itaocara, state of Rio de Janeiro, 40 families that ...

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Selection aiming at upright growth habit common bean with carioca type grains
Aiming at common bean lines with a high grain yield, upright growth habit and carioca type grains, ten common bean lines were crossed in a diallel scheme. The resulting populations were evaluated as to their capacity of generating superior lines.

Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.
