Uniform Bahadur Representation for Local Polynomial Estimates of M-Regression and Its Application to The Additive Model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We use local polynomial fitting to estimate the nonparametric M-regression function for strongly mixing stationary processes $\{(Y_{i},\underline{X}_{i})\}$.

A spectral algorithm for robust regression with subgaussian rates

open access: yesCoRR, 2020
We study a new linear up to quadratic time algorithm for linear regression in the absence of strong assumptions on the underlying distributions of samples, and in the presence of outliers. The goal is to design a procedure which comes with actual working code that attains the optimal sub-gaussian error bound even though the data have only finite ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

MODELING TOTAL FERTILITY RATE IN INDONESIA: A COMPARISON OF FOURIER SERIES REGRESSION AND ELASTIC NET REGRESSION

open access: yesBarekeng
The Total Fertility Rate (TFR) describes population growth and socioeconomic development of a country. This statistic plays an important role in predicting future social and economic conditions.

Regularity dependence of the rate of convergence of the learning curve for Gaussian process regression [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This paper deals with the speed of convergence of the learning curve in a Gaussian process regression framework. The learning curve describes the average generalization error of the Gaussian process used for the regression.

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Testing and Modeling Fuel Regression Rate in a Miniature Hybrid Burner

open access: yesInternational Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2012
Ballistic characterization of an extended group of innovative HTPB-based solid fuel formulations for hybrid rocket propulsion was performed in a lab-scale burner. An optical time-resolved technique was used to assess the quasisteady regression history of
