Rejuvenation in the random energy model [PDF]

open access: green, 2001
We show that the Random Energy Model has interesting rejuvenation properties in its frozen phase. Different `susceptibilities' to temperature changes, for the free-energy and for other (`magnetic') observables, can be computed exactly.

A microscopic mechanism for rejuvenation and memory effects in spin glasses [PDF]

open access: green, 2001
Aging in spin glasses (and in some other systems) reveals astonishing effects of `rejuvenation and memory' upon temperature changes. In this paper, we propose microscopic mechanisms (at the scale of spin-spin interactions) which can be at the origin of ...

Aging, rejuvenation, and memory effects in Ising and Heisenberg spin glasses [PDF]

open access: green, 2001
We have compared aging phenomena in the Fe_{0.5}Mn_{0.5}TiO_3 Ising spin glass and in the CdCr_{1.7}In_{0.3}S_4 Heisenberg-like spin glass by means of low-frequency ac susceptibility measurements. At constant temperature, aging obeys the same `$\omega t$

Pharmacological Management of Pattern Hair Loss

open access: yesIndian Journal of Plastic Surgery, 2021
Pattern hair loss (PHL) is a condition that worsens with time and the only way it can be slowed down is with pharmacological intervention. Pharmacological treatments for PHL, from an evidenced-based perspective with respect to safety and efficacy, are ...

Naoxin’an capsules protect brain function and structure in patients with vascular cognitive impairment

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2023
Introduction: Vascular cognitive impairment (VCI) is one of the most common types of dementia. Naoxin'an capsule (NXA), a traditional Chinese medicine compound, has been used to treat VCI for a long time in the clinic.

Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation for early-onset Alzheimer’s disease – A case report

open access: yesClinical Neurophysiology Practice, 2023
Background: Early-onset Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) is a rare form of AD defined as exhibiting signs and symptoms before age 65. Several studies have shown high frequency repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) to be an effective treatment for ...
