The King’s New Clothes in the Eyes of the Beholder: Developing a Measurement Scale for Attitude Towards Corruption. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This study investigates the validity and reliability of a developing scale on attitude towards corruption. It correlates this scale with existing and related behavioural measures, both ethical (money ethic, work ethic and corruption perception) and non ...

Bootstrap Interval Estimation of Reliability via Coefficient Omega [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Three different bootstrap confidence intervals (CIs) for coefficient omega were investigated. The CIs were assessed through a simulation study with conditions not previously investigated.

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

On the Usefulness of Interrater Reliability Coefficients [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
For four data sets of different measurement levels, we computed 20 coefficients that estimate interrater reliability. The results show that the coefficients provide very different numerical values when applied to the same data. We discuss possible explanations for the differences among coefficients and suggest further research that is needed to clarify

The cooperative regulation of miR‐221 by APE1 and AUF1 impacts p27Kip1 defining a miR signature relevant for cervical cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A regulatory axis involving APE1, AUF1, and miR‐221 is proposed. Pri‐miR‐221 is processed by DROSHA and DICER to generate mature miR‐221, which targets p27Kip1 mRNA. APE1 and AUF1 compete for pre‐miR‐221 binding. Reduced APE1/AUF1 levels impair miR‐221 biogenesis, decrease p27Kip1 mRNA degradation, and promote cell cycle progression, chemoresistance ...

Meta‐analysis fails to show any correlation between protein abundance and ubiquitination changes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We analyzed over 50 published proteomics datasets to explore the relationship between protein levels and ubiquitination changes across multiple experimental conditions and biological systems. Although ubiquitination is often associated with protein degradation, our analysis shows that changes in ubiquitination do not globally correlate with changes in ...
