Discordance of Dopaminergic Dysfunction and Subcortical Atrophy by α‐Synuclein Status in Sporadic and Genetic Parkinson's Disease
Movement Disorders, EarlyView.Abstract Background
Parkinson's disease (PD) is characterized by predominantly neuronal α‐synuclein pathology and dopaminergic dysfunction. Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) seeding amplification assays (SAA) detect α‐synuclein aggregates in vivo, but not all patients with PD have a positive SAA.Michael Tran Duong, Sandhitsu R. Movement Disorders, EarlyView.Abstract Background
The cerebrospinal fluid alpha‐synuclein seed amplification assay (CSFasynSAA) detects alpha‐synuclein aggregation in over 90% of individuals with sporadic PD (sPD). However, the clinical characteristics of sPD with negative CSFasynSAA remain undefined.Sarah M. Movement Disorders, EarlyView.Abstract Background
Neuroinflammation, measured using [11C](R)‐PK11195 positron emission tomography (PET), has been reported in isolated rapid‐eye‐movement sleep behavior disorder (iRBD), but its temporal progression is unknown. Objective
The aim was to assess longitudinal progression of neuroinflammation in iRBD patients and its relationship with ...Andreas Myhre Baun, Alex Iranzo, Miriam Højholt Terkelsen, Rainer Hinz, Morten Gersel Stokholm, Kristian Stær, Mónica Serradel, Marit Otto, Kristina Bacher Svendsen, Alicia Garrido, Dolores Vilas, Arne Møller, Carles Gaig, Eduardo Tolosa, David J. Movement Disorders, EarlyView.Abstract Background
[18F]Fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography ([18F]FDG PET) represents an endorsed neurodegeneration biomarker in neuronal α‐synucleinopathies. Idiopathic/isolated rapid eye movement (REM) sleep behavior disorder (iRBD) represents a prodromal stage of such disorders.Beatrice Orso, Ignacio Roura, Pietro Mattioli, Francesco Famà, Federico Massa, Luigi Lorenzini, Andrea Brugnolo, Nicola Girtler, Mattia Losa, Stefano Raffa, Luca Sofia, Monica Roascio, Gabriele Arnulfo, Silvia Morbelli, Matteo Pardini, Dario Arnaldi +15 morewiley +1 more source
