A Huaxian Formula Nanoformulation Confers Protection Against Acute Radiation‐Induced Lung Injury by Targeting Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An inhalable, nanoengineered herbal therapy achieves protection against acute radiation‐induced lung injury via self‐assembled nanomicelle‐mediated pulmonary targeting and a previously unrecognized dual mechanism that attenuates oxidative stress while inhibiting ferroptosis in alveolar epithelial cells.

Reversing Macrophage Immunometabolic Dysfunction in Prolonged Infections Via a Glutaminolysis‐Fueled Restoration‐Based Hierarchically Selective Therapeutic System

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A hierarchically selective immunotherapeutic nanoplatform, mGls@HEV‐MTP, selectively restores macrophage immunocompetence through GLS1‐mediated restoration of glutaminolysis‐fueled anaplerosis. Concurrently, it renders Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) more readily recognizable to the metabolically reprogrammed macrophages, thereby facilitating ...

Fumarate-induced succination of A-kinase anchor protein 12 exacerbates renal inflammation and fibrosis

open access: yesThe Journal of Clinical Investigation
The inflammatory response resulting from the abnormal accumulation of metabolites has been implicated in the pathogenesis of organ fibrosis; however, its role and underlying mechanisms in renal fibrosis remain unclear.

An Injectable ROS‐Responsive Nanozyme Hydrogel Regulates the Uterine Microenvironment to Prevent Intrauterine Adhesions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The injectable CeTA@GPP hydrogel is administered via intrauterine injection, forming a protective barrier. In the high ROS inflammatory microenvironment of injured endometrium, boronate ester cleavage triggers responsive CeTA release and local enrichment.

Interleukin‐1α Mediates Pancreatic Fibroblast Activation, Regulates Immune Cell Recruitment and Fibrosis in Acute and Chronic Pancreatitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
During pancreatitis, IL‐1α is released from necrotic acinar cells. In response to IL‐1α, pancreatic fibroblasts release chemokines and cytokines that regulate the recruitment of immune cells to the damaged organ. Furthermore, IL‐1α primes fibroblasts, resulting in increased tissue fibrosis during chronic pancreatitis.

An appraisal of the histopathological assessment of liver fibrosis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
One of the most important aspects of the histopathological assessment of liver biopsies in the setting of chronic liver disease is determination of the degree of fibrosis and architectural change.

Intelligent Programmable Membrane Nanosponge for Early Virus Blocking

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A smart programmable nanosponge (ACNPs) displays high‐density viral receptors on its membrane and encapsulates fusion inhibitors to capture virions at the infection source through competitive binding and blocks their entry through protease inhibition for ultra‐early cascade interception. This modular, mucus‐penetrating platform shifts antiviral defence

The EZH2 selective inhibitor ZLD1039 attenuates UUO-induced renal fibrosis by suppressing YAP activation

open access: yesMolecular Biomedicine
Renal fibrosis is a manifestation of the progression of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and chronic inflammation is a main driver in the development of renal fibrosis.

Periodontitis Promoted Renal Disease Progress In Stressful Statement

open access: yesInternational Dental Journal
Aim or purpose: Recent studies have indicated a bi-directional relationship between periodontitis and CKD. Renal fibrosis is the main pathological character of CKD, and it’s associated with inflammation and aberrant glycolysis.
