Resource dedication problem in a multi-project environment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
There can be different approaches to the management of resources within the context of multi-project scheduling problems. In general, approaches to multiproject scheduling problems consider the resources as a pool shared by all projects.

Applying Problem Based Learning to Improve Student Engagement in an Engineering Economics Course [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Maintaining high levels of student engagement and interest is a widespread challenge in teaching Engineering Economics courses. To address this challenge at Baylor’s School of Engineering and Computer Science, a series of problem-based homework ...

Rights and rents in local commons

open access: yesJournal of Mechanism and Institution Design, 2020
This paper considers management of renewable resources in local or regional commons. It suggests that property rights, or lack thereof, be replaced by clearly defined user rights.

An equitable approach to the payment scheduling problem in project management [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
This study reports on a new approach to the payment scheduling problem. In this approach, the amount and timing of the payments made by the client and received by the contractor are determined so as to achieve an equitable solution.

XPS on Li-Battery-Related Compounds: Analysis of Inorganic SEI Phases and a Methodology for Charge Correction

open access: yes, 2018
Accurate identification of chemical phases associated with the electrode and solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) is critical for understanding and controlling interfacial degradation mechanisms in lithium containing battery systems.

Direct Detection of Products from the Pyrolysis of 2-Phenethyl Phenyl Ether [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The pyrolysis of 2-phenethyl phenyl ether (PPE, C_6H_5C_2H_4OC_6H_5) in a hyperthermal nozzle (300-1350 °C) was studied to determine the importance of concerted and homolytic unimolecular decomposition pathways. Short residence times (

Time-constrained project scheduling with adjacent resources [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We develop a decomposition method for the Time-Constrained Project Scheduling Problem (TCPSP) with Adjacent Resources. For adjacent resources the resource units are ordered and the units assigned to a job have to be adjacent.

Analysis of gas chromatography/mass spectrometry data for catalytic lignin depolymerization using positive matrix factorization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Various catalytic technologies are being developed to efficiently convert lignin into renewable chemicals. However, due to its complexity, catalytic lignin depolymerization often generates a wide and complex distribution of product compounds.

Cu‐Based MOF/TiO2 Composite Nanomaterials for Photocatalytic Hydrogen Generation and the Role of Copper

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
HKUST‐1/TiO2 composite materials show a very high photocatalytic hydrogen evolution rate which increases as a function of the irradiation time until reaching a plateau and even surpasses the performance of the 1%Pt/TiO2 material after three photocatalytic cycles.

MnI‐Functionalized Covalent Organic Framework as Efficient Electrocatalyst for CO2 Reduction in a Catholyte‐Free Zero‐Gap Electrolyzer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates the successful integration of a phenanthroline‐based 2D COF with MnI catalytic sites into a catholyte‐free membrane‐electrode‐assembly cell for CO2 electroreduction. The crystalline COF actively suppresses Mn⁰–Mn⁰ dimerization, achieving a turnover frequency of 617 h⁻¹ at 2.8 V (full‐cell potential), and enabling stable operation.
