The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Muscle oxygenation maintained during repeated-sprints despite inspiratory muscle loading.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2019
A high work of breathing can compromise limb oxygen delivery during sustained high-intensity exercise. However, it is unclear if the same is true for intermittent sprint exercise.

On the experimental testing of fine Nitinol wires for medical devices [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Nitinol, a nickel titanium alloy, is widely used as a biocompatible metal with applications in high strain medical devices. The alloy exhibits both superelasticity and thermal shape memory behaviour. Basic mechanical properties can be established and are

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Repeated Loading of Cohesive Soil – Shakedown Theory in Undrained Conditions

open access: yesStudia Geotechnica et Mechanica, 2015
The development of industry and application of new production techniques could bring about extraordinary problems that have been neglected. One of these challenges in terms of soil mechanics is high frequency cyclic loading.

On the physical correlations of the thermoplasticity deformation theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Розглянуто узагальнення деформаційної теорії термопластичності при неізотермічних процесах навантаження з урахуванням можливого пружного розвантаження після пластичного деформування, повторного пластичного деформування після пружного розвантаження і ...

Dynamic behavior and damping capacity of auxetic foam pads [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
A novel set of auxetic (negative Poisson's ratio) open cell polyurethane foam has been developed and tested under dynamic loading conditions to assess the viscoelastic response under white noise random excitation and compressive cycling.

PICALM::MLLT10 translocated leukemia

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This comprehensive review of PICALM::MLLT10 translocated acute leukemia provides an in‐depth review of the structure and function of CALM, AF10, and the fusion oncoprotein (1). The multifaceted molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis, including nucleocytoplasmic shuttling (2), epigenetic modifications (3), and disruption of endocytosis (4), are then ...

Structural relaxation in amorphous materials under cyclic tension-compression loading

open access: yes, 2019
The process of structural relaxation in disordered solids subjected to repeated tension-compression loading is studied using molecular dynamics simulations.
