Student and community perceptions about organ donors, non-donors, and transplant recipients [PDF]
Despite efforts to encourage organ donation, low organ donation rates in Australia and other Western nations do not meet the demand for transplantable organs.

A context‐dependent modulatory role for eIF6 in acquired resistance to vemurafenib in melanoma
Acquired resistance to vemurafenib upregulates the translation factor eIF6 in melanoma cells. Silencing eIF6 in resistant cells reduces proliferation and partially restores drug sensitivity, whereas its overexpression increases sensitivity across melanoma lines regardless of BRAF status, via modulation of mTOR, S6K, and MAPK signaling.

Prevalence of seroreactivity among blood donors in rural population
The seroreactivity pattern amongst blood donors in rural population was studied at S.R.T. Rural Medical College and Hospital, Ambajogai (M. S.). The study period was from January 1996 to December 2001. A total number of 12,240 blood donors were screened.

How donors choose charities: the role of personal taste and experiences in giving decisions [PDF]
The question of how donors decide which charities to support, as opposed to questions about whether to give and how much to give, has been under-researched.

Seropositivity and Trends of Transfusion Section Transmitted Infections among Blood Donors: Five Years Cross-sectional Study on 20,392 Blood Donors in a Tertiary Care Hospital of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India [PDF]
Introduction: Blood transfusion is a lifesaving intervention. However, it can also be a source of Transfusion-transmissible Infections (TTIs), posing a potential threat to the recipient. Testing for TTIs before blood transfusion is crucial for the safety

Smaller is better: nanobodies meet NMR
Nanobodies are single‐domain antigen‐binding fragments derived from camelid heavy chain antibodies. Their small size, high stability, and exceptional specificity make nanobodies uniquely useful probes for NMR studies of protein dynamics, transient conformational states, and protein–protein interactions.

DNA ligase LigE increases bacterial transformation with damaged extracellular DNA
The DNA ligase LigE from the naturally competent Gram‐negative bacterium Neisseria gonorrhoaea increases transformation with cut extracellular DNA. This process is ATP‐dependent and relies on the catalytic activity of LigE; it also requires that LigE contains an intact periplasmic localisation sequence, indicating that ligE functions in the periplasm ...

Prevalence and trends of hepatitis B infection among blood donors [PDF]
Background: The significance of blood transfusion is best captured by the phrase, "It's not just blood-it's liquid life." However, without proper safety measures, transfusion carries serious risks, including the transmission of highly infectious diseases.
