Comparison of Electrocardiographic Repolarization Patterns between Hypogonad Males and Normal Subjects

open access: yesAnnals of Noninvasive Electrocardiology, 2003
Background: There is a significant difference in repolarization on the surface ECG between men and women. The effect of testosterone on repolarization of myocardium may provide a basis for the physiological and pathophysiological importance of these ...

Arrhythmogenic Mechanisms in Hypokalaemia: Insights From Pre-clinical Models

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine, 2021
Potassium is the predominant intracellular cation, with its extracellular concentrations maintained between 3. 5 and 5 mM. Among the different potassium disorders, hypokalaemia is a common clinical condition that increases the risk of life-threatening ...

Repolarization Reserve [PDF]

open access: yesCirculation, 2008
A drug dose (and con-centration) that produces minimal QT prolongation in onepatient may, in an apparently indistinguishable subject, pro-duce marked QT prolongation and torsade de pointes. Thisvariability in response to an exogenous stressor is paralleledby variability in the extent to which a given mutation in thecongenital long-QT syndrome prolongs ...

Discovery of Hydrazineyl Amide Derivative of Pseudolaric Acid B for Reprogramming Tumor-Associated Macrophages Against Tumor Growth

open access: yesMolecules
Tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) are pivotal for tumor development and progression. Reprogramming the M2-like pro-tumoral behavior of TAMs towards the M1-like anti-tumor phenotype to unleash their potential against tumors has become one of the most ...

Electrophysiology Models for End-Stage Renal Disease Maladaptations That Promote Asystole

open access: yesReviews in Cardiovascular Medicine
Many patients with chronic renal impairment experience cardiac comorbidities throughout their lives, and the incidence of electrophysiological demise for patients with terminal renal impairment requiring renal replacement therapy is higher than in ...

Angiotensinogen and Angiotensin II Type 1 Receptor Gene Polymorphisms and Changes in Repolarization Parameters in Elderly Chinese: A 4-Year Follow-up Study

open access: yesKaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, 2008
Ventricular repolarization abnormality plays a crucial role in cardiac arrhythmia. Polymorphisms in renin—angiotensin system genes are associated with occurrence of ventricular arrhythmia. We previously demonstrated that subjects carrying the angiotensin

Depolarization and repolarization dynamics after His‐bundle pacing: Comparison with right ventricular pacing and native ventricular conduction

open access: yesAnnals of Noninvasive Electrocardiology, 2022
Background The current study aimed to evaluate changes in electrical depolarization and repolarization parameters after His‐bundle pacing (HBP) compared with right ventricular pacing (RVP) and its association with ventricular arrhythmia (VA).

Temporal variability of T‐wave morphology and risk of sudden cardiac death in patients with coronary artery disease

open access: yesAnnals of Noninvasive Electrocardiology, 2021
Background The possible relationship between temporal variability of electrocardiographic spatial heterogeneity of repolarization and the risk of sudden cardiac death (SCD) in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) is not completely understood ...

Repolarization Alternans [PDF]

open access: yesCirculation Research, 2000
The appearance of electrocardiographic T-wave alternans with elevated heart rate or metabolic insult has been observed for nearly a century.1 Macroscopic T-wave alternans is often noted as a harbinger of sudden arrhythmic death.2 Efforts to quantify the magnitude of more subtle repolarization alternans and relate these measurements to arrhythmia ...

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.
