Military Support and Rescue Robot

open access: yesInternational Journal for Research in Applied Science and Engineering Technology, 2023
Abstract: Military support and rescue robots are becoming increasingly important in modern warfare and disaster response efforts. These robots can perform tasks that are too dangerous or difficult for human soldiers or first responders. They can also gather and transmit crucial information in real-time to help commanders make informed decisions.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Strategy for using a robot to rescue a rolled-over robot and validation of its effectiveness

open access: yesDiscover Mechanical Engineering
If we can establish a technology that enables a robot to restore a rolled-over robot to its original state in an environment that is inaccessible to humans, we can dramatically improve the capabilities of multi-robot operations.

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Programmability and Performance of Parallel ECS-based Simulation of Multi-Agent Exploration Models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
While the traditional objective of parallel/distributed simulation techniques has been mainly in improving performance and making very large models tractable, more recent research trends targeted complementary aspects, such as the “ease of programming ...

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

Coal Mine Rescue Robots Based on Binocular Vision: A Review of the State of the Art

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Rescue work after a coal mine accident is fraught with challenges and dangers. Considering the safety of rescue workers and the urgency of a rescue mission, it is necessary to use coal mine rescue robots to perform the tasks of environmental detection ...
