Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Resonant Absorption in the AGN spectra emerging from photoionized gas: differences between steep and flat ionizing continua [PDF]
We present photoionization models accounting for both photoelectric and resonant absorption. Resonance absorption lines from C, O, Ne, Mg, Si S and Fe between 0.1 and 10 keV are treated.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Modeling the Stiffening Behavior of Sand Subjected to Dynamic Loading
In geotechnical engineering, dynamic soil models are used to predict soil behavior under different loading conditions. This is crucial for many dynamic geotechnical problems related to earthquakes, train loading and machine foundation design. Researchers

Nucleon resonance contributions to unpolarised inclusive electron scattering [PDF]
The first CLAS12 experiments will provide high-precision data on inclusive electron scattering observables at a photon virtuality $Q^2$ ranging from 0.05 GeV$^2$ to 12 GeV$^2$ and center-of-mass energies $W$ up to 4 GeV.

Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Benchmarking Conventional Machine Learning Models for Dynamic Soil Property Prediction
Reliable estimates of soil stiffness and energy dissipation are essential for dynamic-response design. This study benchmarks machine learning models for predicting shear modulus (G) and damping ratio (D) using 2738 resonant-column measurements.

Hydrodynamic Investigation on a Land-Fixed OWC Wave Energy Device under Irregular Waves
The hydrodynamic response of a land-based oscillating water column (OWC) wave energy converter under various irregular wave conditions is investigated numerically. Based on the potential flow theory, a two-dimensional fully nonlinear numerical wave flume

Absorption imaging of a quasi 2D gas: a multiple scattering analysis [PDF]
Absorption imaging with quasi-resonant laser light is a commonly used technique to probe ultra-cold atomic gases in various geometries. Here we investigate some non-trivial aspects of this method when it is applied to in situ diagnosis of a quasi two ...
