Dynamic Moduli and Damping Ratios for Monterey No. 0 Sand by Resonant Column Tests
ABSTRACT The available empirical relationships for maximum dynamic shear modulus (Gmax) and dynamic shear damping (Ds) at low strain amplitudes for sands are reviewed. Based on tests with Monterey No. 0 sand in resonant column device, new relations for Gmax and Ds are proposed.

In this report, a self‐adaptive anhydrous passivation strategy is introduced by incorporating trimellitic anhydride (TMAH) into the perovskite precursor. In situ hydrolysis of TMAH yields trimellitic acid (TMA); ‐C═O/‐COO− groups of TMAH/TMA form a chelate with undercoordinated Pb2+/Sn2+, regulate nucleation, promote (100) orientation, passivate ...

Solution‐processed Cu(bdc) forms prototypical MOF thin films for which a multitude of not fully satisfactory structural models have been suggested. Combining rotating grazing‐incidence diffraction and X‐ray reflectivity on two complementary samples with density‐functional theory, we first discard the previously suggested models and then identify a non ...

Development and Verification of a Large Scale Resonant Column Testing System
In this study, a resonant column testing system which is the largest in Korea has been developed to evaluate the dynamic deformation characteristics of coarse granular geomaterials, and the performance and the applicability of the testing system have been verified.

Methane Gas Hydrate Morphology and its Effect on the Stiffness and Damping of some Sediments [PDF]
Gas hydrates are ice–like compounds found in deep sea sediments and permafrosts. Concise detectionand quantification of natural methane gas hydrate deposits, will allow for a more robust assessmentof gas hydrate as a potential energy resource or natural ...
