This work presents the characterization of MvoDUF2193, a Methanococcus voltae (Mvo) protein from the domain of unknown function (DUF) 2193 family. We demonstrate that MvoDUF2193 binds a single [4Fe–4S] cluster per subunit and that cluster occupancy regulates the transition from an apo tetramer to a [4Fe–4S] monomeric form. This structural transition is

Cooling of a Nanomechanical Resonator in the Presence of a Single Diatomic Molecule
We propose a theoretical scheme for coupling a nanomechanical resonator to a single diatomic molecule via microwave cavity mode of a driven LC resonator.

Overstability and resonance [PDF]
We consider the linear differential equation $\epsilon y''+\varphi(x,\epsilon)y'+\psi(x,\epsilon)y=0$ where $\epsilon>0$ is a small parameter and where $x,\varphi(x,0)>0$ if $x\neq0$. We suppose that $\varphi$ and $\psi$ are real analytic on $[a,b]\times{0}$ and that the function $\psi_0:x\mapsto\psi(x,0)$ has a zero at $x=0$ of at least the same order

A nucleotide‐independent, pan‐RAS‐targeted DARPin elicits anti‐tumor activity in a multimodal manner
We report a Designed Ankyrin Repeat Protein that binds and inhibits RAS proteins, which serve as central cell signaling hubs and are essential for the progression of many cancers. Its unique feature is that it does not discriminate between different RAS isoforms or mutations and is capable of binding to RAS in both its active (GTP‐bound) and inactive ...

Understanding and measuring mechanical signals in the tumor stroma
This review discusses cancer‐associated fibroblast subtypes and their functions, particularly in relation to extracellular matrix production, as well as the development of 3D models to study tumor stroma mechanics in vitro. Several quantitative techniques to measure tissue mechanical properties are also described, to emphasize the diagnostic and ...

Dynamical instabilities of a resonator driven by a superconducting single-electron transistor
We investigate the dynamical instabilities of a resonator coupled to a superconducting single-electron transistor (SSET) tuned to the Josephson quasiparticle (JQP) resonance.

Active coupled-resonator optical waveguides. II. Current injection InP-InGaAsP Fabry-Perot resonator arrays [PDF]
We investigate active, electrically pumped coupled-resonator optical waveguides (CROWs) in the form of InP-InGaAsP Fabry-Perot resonator arrays. We discuss the fabrication of these devices and present measurements of the transmission spectra.

Fano resonances based on multimode and degenerate mode interference in plasmonic resonator system.
In this paper, three Fano resonances based on three different physical mechanisms are theoretically and numerically investigated in a plasmonic resonator system, comprised of two circular cavities.
