Paper Based Chipless RFID Leaf Wetness Detector for Plant Health Monitoring

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
This paper presents the design and analysis of a paper-based chipless RFID sensor for wetness content measurement in plant leaves. The sensor is designed using a passive microwave resonator to measure the ambient physical parameter.

Impact of bulk density assignment of bone on MRI‐based abdominal region radiotherapy planning for MR‐linac workflow

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the impact of bone relative electron density (rED) assignment on radiotherapy planning for the abdominal region. Methods Twenty patients who received abdominal radiotherapy using MR‐Linac and underwent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT) simulation were analyzed.

Human papillomavirus (HPV) prediction for oropharyngeal cancer based on CT by using off‐the‐shelf features: A dual‐dataset study

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background This study aims to develop a novel predictive model for determining human papillomavirus (HPV) presence in oropharyngeal cancer using computed tomography (CT). Current image‐based HPV prediction methods are hindered by high computational demands or suboptimal performance.

Hydrodynamics of resonances [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics A, 2011
We derive system of equations describing fluidity of the medium consisting of non-relativistic particles with finite mass-widths. For that we use expressions for the kinetic Noether 4-current and the Noether energy-momentum tensor being conserved provided one uses self-consistent approximations to the gradient expanded Kadanoff-Baym equations.

Monte Carlo modeling of radiation dose from radiation therapy with superficial x‐rays

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Introduction Superficial x‐rays (50–100 kVp) are used for treating non‐melanoma skin cancer and intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT). At these energies, the photoelectric effect significantly increases absorbed dose to bone compared to soft tissue.

Resonant coupling of a SQUID to a mechanical resonator

open access: yesEPL (Europhysics Letters), 2010
We analyze the properties of a mechanical resonator embedded into a quantum SQUID and analyze under which conditions it is possible to realize a resonant coupling between the SQUID and the resonator. We find, within the present technology, how it is possible to tune the system into the regime where the plasma frequency of the SQUID matches the ...

Effects of simultaneous multislice acceleration on the stability of radiomics features in parametric maps of IVIM and DKI in uterine cervical cancer

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of the simultaneous multislice acceleration (SMS) technique as well as two‐dimensional (2D) and three‐dimensional (3D) tumor segmentations on radiomics features (RFs) within the parametric maps of cervical cancer, which were computed by intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) and ...

Facilitating 1.5T MR‐Linac adoption: Workflow strategies and practical tips

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background MR‐guided radiotherapy (MRgRT) offers new opportunities but also introduces workflow complexities requiring dedicated optimization. Implementing magnetic resonance linear accelerator (MR‐Linac) technology comes with challenges such as prolonged treatment times and workflow integration issues.
