Alectinib resistance in ALK+ NSCLC depends on treatment sequence and EML4‐ALK variants. Variant 1 exhibited off‐target resistance after first‐line treatment, while variant 3 and later lines favored on‐target mutations. Early resistance involved off‐target alterations, like MET and NF2, while on‐target mutations emerged with prolonged therapy.

Nuclear prothymosin α inhibits epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in lung cancer by increasing Smad7 acetylation and competing with Smad2 for binding to SNAI1, TWIST1, and ZEB1 promoters. In early‐stage cancer, ProT suppresses TGF‐β‐induced EMT, while its loss in the nucleus in late‐stage cancer leads to enhanced EMT and poor prognosis.

Local Defence System in Healthy Lungs
Background: The respiratory system is one of the main entrance gates for infection. The aim of this work was to compare the appearance of specific mucosal pro-inflammatory and common anti-microbial defence factors in healthy lung tissue, from an ...

Respiratory antiviral immunity and immunobiotics: Beneficial effects on inflammation-coagulation interaction during influenza virus infection [PDF]
Influenza virus (IFV) is a major respiratory pathogen of global importance, and the cause of a high degree of morbidity and mortality, especially in high-risk populations such as infants, elderly, and immunocompromised hosts.

Endocan and the respiratory system: a review
Endocan, formerly called endothelial cell-specific molecule 1, is an endothelial cell-associated proteoglycan that is preferentially expressed by renal and pulmonary endothelium. It is upregulated by proangiogenic molecules as well as by pro-inflammatory

Determination of ADP/ATP translocase isoform ratios in malignancy and cellular senescence
The individual functions of three isoforms exchanging ADP and ATP (ADP/ATP translocases; ANTs) on the mitochondrial membrane remain unclear. We developed a method for quantitatively differentiating highly similar human ANT1, ANT2, and ANT3 using parallel reaction monitoring. This method allowed us to assess changes in translocase levels during cellular

A study of the pulmonary complications of preterm infants after prenatal corticosteroids prophylaxis in a major Bulgarian hospital [PDF]
: An increasingly common problem in obstetrics and neonatology is premature birth. This problem is the cause of many health complications in premature neonates and is leading to neonatal mortality.

Respiration rate and volume measurements using wearable strain sensors. [PDF]
Current methods for continuous respiration monitoring such as respiratory inductive or optoelectronic plethysmography are limited to clinical or research settings; most wearable systems reported only measures respiration rate.
