En este trabajo, analizo las funciones más frecuentemente atribuidas a la responsabilidad civil. Sostendré que la única función distintiva es la implementación de la justicia interpersonal. El resto de las funciones pueden ser satisfechas por otras instituciones con igual o mayor éxito que la responsabilidad civil.
