Response Inhibition of Cigarette-related Cues in Male Smokers: Behavioral Evidence from a Two-choice Oddball Paradigm

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2015
Behavioral inhibitory control has been shown to play an important role in a variety of addictive behaviors. A number of studies involving the use of Go/No-Go and stop-signal paradigms have shown that smokers have reduced response inhibition for cigarette-

Striatal D1- and D2-type Dopamine Receptors Are Linked to Motor Response Inhibition in Human Subjects

open access: yesJournal of Neuroscience, 2015
Motor response inhibition is mediated by neural circuits involving dopaminergic transmission; however, the relative contributions of dopaminergic signaling via D1- and D2-type receptors are unclear. Although evidence supports dissociable contributions of

AMPK and the Atrial Response to Metabolic Inhibition∗

open access: yesJournal of the American College of Cardiology, 2015
AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) is a molecular energy sensor that is essential to the stress response in the heart [(1)][1]. AMPK is activated during energy imbalance, when the ADP- or AMP-to-ATP ratio increases.

Clinical applications of next‐generation sequencing‐based ctDNA analyses in breast cancer: defining treatment targets and dynamic changes during disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a possibility for different applications in early and late stage breast cancer management. In early breast cancer tumor informed approaches are increasingly used for detecting molecular residual disease (MRD) and early recurrence. In advanced stage, ctDNA provides a possibility for monitoring disease progression and

Temporal prediction errors modulate task-switching performance

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2015
We have previously shown that temporal prediction errors (PEs, the differences between the expected and the actual stimulus’ onset times) modulate the effective connectivity between the anterior cingulate cortex and the right anterior insular cortex (rAI)

An Activation Threshold Model for Response Inhibition

open access: yesPLOS ONE, 2017
Reactive response inhibition (RI) is the cancellation of a prepared response when it is no longer appropriate. Selectivity of RI can be examined by cueing the cancellation of one component of a prepared multi-component response. This substantially delays execution of other components.

Circulating tumor cells in metastatic breast cancer patients treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors – a biomarker analysis of the ALICE and ICON trials

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative biomarker analysis, we assessed serial sampling of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) with CellSearch in two randomized trials testing immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in metastatic breast cancer. Our data demonstrate a prognostic potential of CTCs, most apparent 4 weeks into ICI therapy.

Executive Control Signals in Orbitofrontal Cortex during Response Inhibition

open access: yesJournal of Neuroscience, 2015
Orbitofrontal cortex (OFC) lesions produce deficits in response inhibition and imaging studies suggest that activity in OFC is stronger on trials that require suppression of behavior, yet few studies have examined neural correlates at the single-unit ...

Circulating tumor cells: advancing personalized therapy in small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is an aggressive form of lung cancer that spreads rapidly to secondary sites such as the brain and liver. Cancer cells circulating in the blood, “circulating tumor cells” (CTCs), have demonstrated prognostic value in SCLC, and evaluating biomarkers on CTCs could guide treatment decisions such as for PARP inhibitors ...

Food-specific response inhibition, dietary restraint and snack intake in lean and overweight/obese adults: a moderated-mediation model

open access: yesInternational Journal of Obesity, 2015
Background/Objectives:The relationship between response inhibition and obesity is currently unclear. This may be because of inconsistencies in methodology, design limitations and the use of narrow samples.
