Optimal Machining Parameters for Achieving the Desired Surface Roughness in Turning of Steel

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering Research, 2012
Due to the widespread use of highly automated machine tools in the metal cutting industry, manufacturing requires highly reliable models and methods for the prediction of output performance in the machining process.

A study into compression ring dynamics using response surface methodology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
For decades the operational dynamics of the compression ring during operation, have been subject to debate. A complex computer simulation, using Design Of Experiments (DOE) methodology, was developed to study the effect of the compression ring rotation ...

Cellular liquid biopsy provides unique chances for disease monitoring, preclinical model generation and therapy adjustment in rare salivary gland cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We quantified and cultured circulating tumor cells (CTCs) of 62 patients with various cancer types and generated CTC‐derived tumoroid models from two salivary gland cancer patients. Cellular liquid biopsy‐derived information enabled molecular genetic assessment of systemic disease heterogeneity and functional testing for therapy selection in both ...

Polynomial Regression and Response Surface Methodology: Theoretical Non-Linearity, Tutorial and Applications for Information Systems Research

open access: yesAustralasian Journal of Information Systems, 2019
Information systems (IS) studies regularly assume linearity of the variables and often disregard the potential non-linear theoretical interrelationships among the variables.

Integrative analysis of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and exosomes from small‐cell lung cancer (SCLC) patients: a comprehensive approach

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study simultaneously investigated circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and exosomes from small‐cell lung cancer (SCLC) patients. The elevated expression of JUNB and CXCR4 in CTCs was a poor prognostic factor for SCLC patients, whereas exosomal overexpression of these biomarkers revealed a high discrimination ability of patients from healthy individuals,

THE OPTIMIZATION OF PRODUCTION ZEOLITE Y CATALYST FROM RHA BY RESPONSE SURFACE METHODOLOGY [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Rice husk is the milling byproduct of rice and is a major waste product of the agriculture industry. Amorphous silica, commonly referred to as rice husk ash, was extracted from rice husk by acid leaching, pyrolysis, and carbon-removing processes.

Response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in early breast cancers is associated with epithelial–mesenchymal transition and tumor‐infiltrating lymphocytes

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) and tumor‐infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) are associated with early breast cancer response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC). This study evaluated EMT and TIL shifts, with immunofluorescence and RNA sequencing, at diagnosis and in residual tumors as potential biomarkers associated with treatment response.

Targeting the MDM2‐MDM4 interaction interface reveals an otherwise therapeutically active wild‐type p53 in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigates an alternative approach to reactivating the oncosuppressor p53 in cancer. A short peptide targeting the association of the two p53 inhibitors, MDM2 and MDM4, induces an otherwise therapeutically active p53 with unique features that promote cell death and potentially reduce toxicity towards proliferating nontumor cells.

Adsorption of Rhodamine B dye from aqueous solution onto acid treated banana peel: Response surface methodology, kinetics and isotherm studies

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2019
The adsorption of rhodamine B (RhB) using acid modified banana peels has been examined. Chemical characteristics of the adsorbents were observed in order to determine active functional groups. The major functional groups on the surface were OH, C = O, C =
