Restoring proximal caries lesions conservatively with tunnel restorations

open access: yesClinical, Cosmetic and Investigational Dentistry, 2013
The tunnel restoration has been suggested as a conservative alternative to the conventional box preparation for treating proximal caries. The main advantage of tunnel restoration over the conventional box or slot preparation includes being more conservative and increasing tooth integrity and strength by preserving the marginal ridge.

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Study on Ecological Restoration Zoning of the Ebinur Lake Basin Based on the Evaluation of Ecological Function Importance and Ecosystem Sensitivity

open access: yesLand
The Ebinur Lake Basin, a key ecological security barrier for windbreak and sand control in northern Xinjiang, is crucial to the ecological safety of western China and the northern sand-prevention belt.

Preventive Conservation and Restoration Monitoring of Heritage Buildings Based on Fuzzy Logic

open access: yesInternational Journal of Architectural Heritage, 2022
This article discusses the usability of the Art-Risk 3.0 software for research on the conservation of heritage buildings. It is a new and free software based on fuzzy logic, which enables the assessment of preventive conservation and surveillance of the ...

Microbiome−host proteostasis crosstalk—An emerging perspective on mechanisms and interventions toward healthy longevity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.

The Influence of Lime in Adobe Optimization Against Humidity [PDF]

open access: yesمسکن و محیط روستا, 2018
The importance and the value of historical buildings and sites and even villages which have adobe houses causes that conservators annually schedule restoration plans and programs to protect the buildings from hazards. This is done because conservation of

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Extraction of Sparse Vegetation Cover in Deserts Based on UAV Remote Sensing

open access: yesRemote Sensing
The unique characteristics of desert vegetation, such as different leaf morphology, discrete canopy structures, sparse and uneven distribution, etc., pose significant challenges for remote sensing-based estimation of fractional vegetation cover (FVC ...

Grassland conservation and restoration in India: a governance crisis

open access: yesRestoration Ecology, 2022
Grasslands are contested ecosystems due to our scant understanding of their ecological and socioeconomic roles and also due to the ambiguity in understanding what exactly constitutes them. This problem escalates in the absence of proper governance.

Epigenetic reprogramming of lineage switching in cancer

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cancer cells rarely commit to a single identity. Epigenetic mechanisms and tumor microenvironment cues push epithelial cells toward flexible, hybrid states that can shift into mesenchymal, neuroendocrine, or stem‐like fates, driving metastasis, drug resistance, and tumor heterogeneity. Targeting the epigenetic regulators behind these transitions, using
