Overview of Anemia among Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Patients in Reproductive Age Women based on Reticulocyte Hemoglobin Equivalent (RET-He) Level and Reticulocyte Count

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Rheumatology, 2018
Background: Anemia is a common manifestation found among patients with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE). It may be caused by iron-deficiency, autoimmune hemolytic, and chronic inflammation. Each anemia has different therapy approachments.

Early exposure, enduring consequences: How do I manage Rh immunoglobulin prophylaxis after Rh‐mismatched transfusions in children?

open access: yesTransfusion, EarlyView.
Abstract Background RhD mismatched transfusions in RhD negative women have the potential to impact future pregnancies through alloimmunization and development of hemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn (HDFN). As use of RhD positive emergency‐release blood products in pediatric trauma has increased, it has become clear that a significant ...

Reticulocyte parameters in hemoglobinopathies and iron deficiency anemia

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Hematologia e Hemoterapia, 2003
Flow cytometric reticulocyte analysis allows the evaluation of reticulocyte maturity. New reticulocyte parameters have been used in the diagnosis and management of anemias, in the bone marrow transplant setting and in the monitoring of iron replacement ...

What Is Your Diagnosis? Leukocytosis With Abnormal WDF and WNR Scattergrams From the Sysmex XN‐1000V in a Dog

open access: yesVeterinary Clinical Pathology, EarlyView.
SUMMARY In dogs, the WDF and WNR scattergrams from the Sysmex XN‐1000V enable a highly presumptive interpretation of mastocytemia. This is the first description of abnormal circulating mast cells using the Sysmex XN‐1000V, which appears to function similarly to the previous analyzer, the Sysmex XT‐2000iV.

Effect of live‐high, train‐low strategy induced by chronic low‐dose carbon monoxide exposure on haematological parameters and performance in trained individuals

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Altitude training enhances haematological adaptations and endurance at sea level, typically requiring exposure to ∼2500 m altitude for 3–4 weeks. Emerging evidence suggests that low‐dose carbon monoxide (CO) inhalation might mimic hypoxia and might be used by elite athletes.

Metabolic stimulation improves bioenergetics and haematologic indices of circulating erythrocytes from sickle cell mice

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Metabolic stimulation improves bioenergetics, redox state, hydration and hematologic indices of circulating erythrocytes from sickle cell mice. Retained mitochondria in circulating RBCs from sickle mice are a source of RBC ATP as mitochondria function (ETC, electron transport chain) inhibitors [rotenone, a mitochondrial complex I

Nucleated red blood cells for characterization of systemic inflammatory response syndrome in dogs

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Internal Medicine
Background Nucleated red blood cells (nRBCs) are increased by disease processes and hematopoietic stress. Objectives To evaluate the utility of nRBCs as a marker of disease severity and prognosis in dogs with systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS)

RETICULOCYTE COUNT TO ASSESS REGENERATIVE RESPONSE IN DOGS WITH IMMUNE MEDIATED HAEMOLYTIC ANAEMIA [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, 2016
Twenty five immune mediated haemolytic anaemia cases confirmed by saline agglutination test and Coombs’ test werevstudied for bone marrow response on the dayvof presentation.
