Simple Fluorescence Labeling Method Enables Detection of Intracellular Distribution and Expression Level of Retinoid X Receptors

open access: yes
There is no straightforward method to visualize the intracellular distribution of nuclear receptors, such as retinoid X receptors (RXRs), which are trafficked between the cytosol and nucleus.

Prospective, Double‐Blind, Vehicle‐Controlled Assessment of Topical Bakuchiol on Photoaging in a Chinese Population

open access: yesJournal of Cosmetic Dermatology, Volume 25, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Aging skin is a universal complaint among diverse patient populations. It encompasses physiologic changes to the skin, such as skin laxity, dyspigmentation, fine lines, and wrinkles. However, different populations may show different signs of aged skin.

Recent Polygenic Adaptation in Heavily Fished Malawi Cichlids

open access: yesMolecular Ecology, Volume 35, Issue 12, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Intense fishing pressure can drive rapid evolution in wild populations, yet the underlying genomic mechanisms often remain elusive. Here, we investigate the genomic consequences of five decades of intense harvesting on the cichlid fish Copadichromis mloto in Lake Malombe, Malawi.

Retinol‐Loaded Mannosylerythritol Lipid Nanoliposome for Enhanced Human Skin Penetration

open access: yesSkin Research and Technology, Volume 32, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Functional cosmetic materials with anti‐aging properties, such as wrinkle reduction, often struggle to penetrate the skin's stratum corneum (skin barrier). Therefore, to exert anti‐aging effects, these materials must pass through the skin barrier and reach fibroblasts in the dermal layer.

Dual Knockout Models of the Spatially and Functionally Conserved rgra and rgrb Zebrafish Genes Reveal the Requirement of RGR for the Integrity of Cone‐Mediated Photopic Vision, the Photopic Visual Cycle and Bruch's Membrane Morphology

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 10, 31 May 2026.
This study investigates the role of the vision gene RGR using novel dual knockout zebrafish models. The loss of rgra and rgrb results in zebrafish larvae having reduced visual function and altered retinoid profiles under light but not dark conditions. The OKR phenotype is enhanced under higher light intensities.

Liver X Receptor and Retinoid X Receptor in Cartilage Development and Homeostasis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Osteoarthritis (OA) is a heterogeneous and multifactorial degenerative disease characterized by cartilage degradation in the joint. Available treatment options target symptoms but do not address the underlying issue of joint tissue degeneration. A better understanding of the molecular mechanisms maintaining cartilage health is essential for developing ...
