NMR Line Shape Analysis of a Multi-state Ligand Binding Mechanism in Chitosanase [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Chitosan interaction with chitosanase was examined through analysis of spectral line shapes in the NMR HSQC titration experiments. We established that the substrate, chitosan hexamer, binds to the enzyme through the three-state induced-fit mechanism with

Selenium‐Enriched Matcha Ameliorates Alcohol‐Induced Liver Injury by Modulating Cytochrome P450 Expression in Mice

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 7, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Selenium is an essential trace element for human health, and the selenium content in selenium‐enriched matcha meets the official criteria for selenium‐enriched foods in China. In the present work, hepatoprotective effects of selenium‐enriched matcha against alcohol‐induced liver injury were systematically investigated, and its mechanism was ...

Hepatoprotective Effect of Morchella Mycelia Polysaccharides on Alcoholic Liver Injury and Its Mechanism Involving the Modulation of NOD‐Like Receptor Signaling Pathway

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 1, January 2026.
The Morchella mycelium polysaccharide (MP), a homogeneous α‐glucan (96.555% glucose, 5.7 kDa), protects against alcohol‐induced liver injury in mice. It reduces serum ALT/AST, improves lipid metabolism, and enhances antioxidants and inhibiting lipid peroxidation. Mechanistically, the MP suppresses Nlrp3 inflammasome‐mediated inflammation/pyroptosis and

Macaranga peltata Alleviates Neuropsychiatric Disorders in Mouse Model and Computational Study

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 1, January 2026.
The methanol extract of Macaranga peltata leaves (MEMPL) exhibited notable neuropharmacological and analgesic properties in rodents. Phytochemical and GC–MS analyses confirmed diverse bioactive compounds. MEMPL (200–400 mg/kg) showed anxiolytic, antidepressant, CNS depressant, and antinociceptive effects, comparable to standard drugs.

Possible Interacting Proteins for Retinol Binding Protein and Cellular Retinol Binding Protein

open access: yes, 2011
Retinol or vitamin A is crucial for many biological processes in the body such as proliferation, differentiation and reproduction. It is mainly stored in the liver and can be broken down to retinoic acid inside the cell. It travels in the circulatory system attached to Retinol Binding Protein (RBP) and its transport into the cell is mediated by the RBP
