The diversity of LTR retrotransposons.

Although most LTR retrotransposons have common structural features and encode similar genes, there is nonetheless considerable diversity in their genomic organization, reflecting the different strategies they use to proliferate within the genomes of their hosts.

This study presents the first genomic identification and characterization of ZW sex chromosomes in two soft‐shelled turtle species through genome assembly and resequencing. We reveal the structural organization of ZW chromosomes, identifying both pseudoautosomal regions (PARs) and differentiated regions.

In callus tissue desiccation tolerance is induced by pre-incubation with Abscisic acid (ABA). In callus and plant ABA treatment and dehydration induce a set of dehydration-responsive genes.
