Reward Sensitivity Enhances Ventrolateral Prefrontal Cortex Activation During Free Choice
Expressing one’s preference via choice can be rewarding, particularly when decisions are voluntarily made as opposed to being forced. An open question is whether engaging in choices involving rewards recruits distinct neural systems as a function of ...

Structural and biochemical analysis of a B12 superbinder
BtuG proteins are vitamin B12 scavengers in Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron, a dominant human gut bacterium. We present crystal structures of three BtuG homologs bound to cobalamin and its precursor cobinamide, revealing picomolar binding affinities, among the highest known for any natural protein.

RNA‐related functions of BRCA2 in transcription, replication, and genome stability
Beyond its role in homologous recombination, BRCA2 regulates R‐loop homeostasis, DNA–RNA hybrid resolution, RNA polymerase II dynamics, and transcriptional activation. Disruption of any of these functions can contribute to genome instability, inflammatory signaling, and tumorigenesis. BRCA2 is a central tumor suppressor protein best known for its roles

Heterodimeric amino acid transporters consist of SLC7 and SLC3 family proteins arranged in a conserved structural organization. They regulate nutrient transport across cell membranes, supporting essential cellular functions. These transporters also contribute to xenobiotic/drug uptake and distribution.

Impulsivity has well-documented associations with risky alcohol use. Little evidence exists on the causal mechanisms, but emerging experimental evidence suggests a role for reward-related impulsivity.

Metastatic niche shaped by host factors influences disseminated cancer cell fate
Metastasis is shaped not only by cancer cells but also by the environments they encounter. This review explores how factors such as aging, diet, the microbiome, lifestyle, and environmental exposures remodel organ‐specific niches in the lung, liver, bone, and brain, influencing where metastatic cells survive, remain dormant, or grow, and ultimately ...

Reward sensitivity differs depending on global self-esteem in value-based decision-making
Global self-esteem is a component of individual personality that impacts decision-making. Many studies have discussed the different preferences for decision-making in response to threats to a person’s self-confidence, depending on global self-esteem ...
