Clinical Relevance and Characteristics of Aspergillus calidoustus and Other Aspergillus Species of Section Usti. [PDF]
The Aspergilli of section Usti (group ustus) are represented by over 20 species, of which Aspergillus calidoustus is the most relevant human pathogen. Invasive aspergillosis (IA) caused by these fungi is rare but could represent an emerging issue among ...

A series of 13 hybrid molecules of both lead structures were prepared using reductive amination as key reaction step. The antimycotic potency of the resulting compounds was evaluated against yeast and mold species. Two compounds showed remarkable potency against several yeasts, and even against Candida krusei.

EUCAST Reference Testing of Rezafungin Susceptibility and Impact of Choice of Plastic Plates [PDF]
Rezafungin is a new long-acting echinocandin currently in phase 3 development. Epidemiological cutoff values are necessary for breakpoint setting but have not been established due to unexplained interlaboratory MIC variations observed in a prior multicenter study.

Time-Kill Kinetics of Rezafungin (CD101) in Vagina-Simulative Medium for Fluconazole-Susceptible and Fluconazole-Resistant Candida albicans [PDF]
Background. While echinocandins demonstrate excellent efficacy against Candida species in disseminated infections and demonstrate potent minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) values under standard susceptibility testing conditions, investigation under ...

ABSTRACT Infections of intact and damaged skin barriers and keratin are frequently associated with complex biofilm communities containing bacteria and fungi, yet there are limited options for successful management. This study intended to focus on the utility of some novel proprietary lactam molecules, quorum sensing (QS)–derived halogenated furanones ...
