Invariant Observer-Based State Estimation for Micro-Aerial Vehicles in GPS-Denied Indoor Environments Using an RGB-D Camera and MEMS Inertial Sensors

open access: yesMicromachines, 2015
This paper presents a non-linear state observer-based integrated navigation scheme for estimating the attitude, position and velocity of micro aerial vehicles (MAV) operating in GPS-denied indoor environments, using the measurements from low-cost MEMS ...

Deep Depth Completion of a Single RGB-D Image

open access: yes, 2018
The goal of our work is to complete the depth channel of an RGB-D image. Commodity-grade depth cameras often fail to sense depth for shiny, bright, transparent, and distant surfaces.

A New RGB-D SLAM Method with Moving Object Detection for Dynamic Indoor Scenes

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2019
Simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) methods based on an RGB-D camera have been studied and used in robot navigation and perception. So far, most such SLAM methods have been applied to a static environment. However, these methods are incapable of

Non-rigid Reconstruction with a Single Moving RGB-D Camera

open access: yes, 2018
We present a novel non-rigid reconstruction method using a moving RGB-D camera. Current approaches use only non-rigid part of the scene and completely ignore the rigid background.

Robust RGB-D SLAM Using Point and Line Features for Low Textured Scene

open access: yesSensors, 2020
Three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction using RGB-D camera with simultaneous color image and depth information is attractive as it can significantly reduce the cost of equipment and time for data collection.

Speckle‐Engineered Upconversion Amplification in Nanoemulsion‐Templated Hydrogel Microdomes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Nanoemulsion‐confined PEGDA microdomes generate speckle‐like excitation fields that strongly amplify upconversion luminescence upon dehydration, enabling filter‐free visible readout with reversible on–off switching. DMD‐based lithography yields scalable, shape‐programmable arrays for moisture‐responsive displays and optical encryption.

Coacervates Made of Elastin‐Like Polypeptides Fused with Melanocyte‐Stimulating Hormone and Monocyte Chemoattractant Protein Enhance Skin Wound Healing in Spinal Cord‐Injured Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Pressure skin wounds are frequent complications after spinal cord injury (SCI), with impaired healing due to vascular and immune deficits. Elastin‐like polypeptides (ELP) fused to α‐MSH (MSH‐ELP) or MCP‐1 (MCP‐ELP) are developed and tested on these wounds. The resulting nanoparticles are non‐toxic and bioactive, and they enhance macrophage recruitment,

Plane-Based Optimization of Geometry and Texture for RGB-D Reconstruction of Indoor Scenes

open access: yes, 2019
We present a novel approach to reconstruct RGB-D indoor scene with plane primitives. Our approach takes as input a RGB-D sequence and a dense coarse mesh reconstructed by some 3D reconstruction method on the sequence, and generate a lightweight, low ...

Global alignment of deformable objects captured by a single RGB-D camera [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We present a novel global registration method for deformable objects captured using a single RGB-D camera. Our algorithm allows objects to undergo large non-rigid deformations, and achieves high quality results without constraining the actor's pose or ...

Sprayable Polymer Blends With Short‐Chain Surface Segregation for Preventing Postoperative Abdominal Adhesions

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Adhesions’ high occurrence rates and high morbidity render them a critical challenge to be addressed. Current prevention methods, such as physical barriers, have many limitations, resulting in inconsistent safety and efficacy. This study demonstrates the potential for sprayable polymeric materials as an adhesion barrier.
