Effect of biosurfactant sophorolipids on Rhizomucor miehei lipase fermentation by Aspergillus oryzae. [PDF]

open access: yesBioresour Bioprocess, 2021
AbstractIn this study, the effect of biosurfactant sophorolipids (SLs) on Rhizomucor miehei lipase (RML) fermentation by Aspergillus oryzae was investigated. With the exogenous addition of 0.3% (w/v) SLs in the initial medium, the RML activity reached 430.0 U/mL, an increase of 25.0% compared to the control group.

Optimization of protease production from Rhizomucor miehei Rm4 isolate under solid-state fermentation. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Genet Eng Biotechnol, 2022
Protease is one of the most important industrial enzymes. The importance of protease bioproduction comes from meeting the increasing demand for this enzyme especially in the cheese industry. Rhizomucor miehei protease is the preferred substitute for the traditional rennet. Solid-state fermentation (SSF) shows promising results in enzyme production.

Safety evaluation of the food enzyme mucorpepsin from Rhizomucor miehei strain DSM 29547. [PDF]

open access: yesEFSA J, 2022
The food enzyme mucorpepsin (EC 3.4.23.23) is produced with the non-genetically modified Rhizomucor miehei strain DSM 29547 by Chr. Hansen. The food enzyme is free from viable cells of the production organism. It is intended to be used in dairy processing for cheese production.

Structure-guided modification of Rhizomucor miehei lipase for production of structured lipids. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS One, 2013
To improve the performance of yeast surface-displayed Rhizomucor miehei lipase (RML) in the production of human milk fat substitute (HMFS), we mutated amino acids in the lipase substrate-binding pocket based on protein hydrophobicity, to improve esterification activity. Five mutants: Asn87Ile, Asn87Ile/Asp91Val, His108Leu/Lys109Ile, Asp256Ile/His257Leu,

Computer-Aided Design to Improve the Thermal Stability of Rhizomucor miehei Lipase. [PDF]

open access: yesFoods
Lipase, a green biocatalyst, finds extensive application in the food sector. Enhancing the thermal stability of lipase presents both challenges and opportunities within the food industry. This research employed multiple rounds of cross-screening using tools like FoldX and I-Mutant 3.0 to strategically design mutations for Rhizomucor miehei lipase (RML),

Computational analysis of chain flexibility and fluctuations in Rhizomucor miehei lipase [PDF]

open access: yesProtein Engineering, Design and Selection, 1999
We have performed molecular dynamics simulation of Rhizomucor miehei lipase (Rml) with explicit water molecules present. The simulation was carried out in periodic boundary conditions and conducted for 1. 2 ns in order to determine the concerted protein dynamics and to examine how well the essential motions are preserved along the trajectory.

Theoretical studies of Rhizomucor miehei lipase activation

open access: yes"Protein Engineering, Design and Selection", 1993
Computational methods have been used to study the extensive conformational change of Rhizomucor miehei lipase upon activation. The present study considers the possible activation route, the energies involved and molecular interactions during the conformational change of the lipase in a hydrophobic environment.

Genome sequence and transcriptome analyses of the thermophilic zygomycete fungus Rhizomucor miehei. [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2014
The zygomycete fungi like Rhizomucor miehei have been extensively exploited for the production of various enzymes. As a thermophilic fungus, R. miehei is capable of growing at temperatures that approach the upper limits for all eukaryotes. To date, over hundreds of fungal genomes are publicly available.
