Novel role of Ras-GTPase Activating Protein SH3 Domain-Binding Protein G3BP in adhesion and migration of 32D myeloid progenitor cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Rho GTPases are involved in homing and mobilization of hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells due to their impact on cytoskeleton remodeling. We have previously shown that inhibition of Rho, Rac and Cdc42 clearly impairs adhesion of normal and leukemic ...

Tumor B‐cell infiltration in platinum‐treated advanced muscle‐invasive urothelial carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Bladder tumors with higher pretreatment memory B‐cell infiltration were linked to longer survival after cisplatin chemotherapy, but not carboplatin. These tumors also showed more organized immune structures (tertiary lymphoid structures) and a shared pro‐inflammatory B‐cell‐rich community, suggesting that memory B cells may help identify patients most ...

Activation of Rac-1 and RhoA contributes to podocyte injury in chronic kidney disease [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Rho-family GTPases like RhoA and Rac-1 are potent regulators of cellular signaling that control gene expression, migration and inflammation. Activation of Rho-GTPases has been linked to podocyte dysfunction, a feature of chronic kidney diseases (CKD). We

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

First clinical experiences with a novel endoscopic over-the-scope clip system

open access: yesEndoscopy International Open, 2017
We describe our experience with a new over-the-scope clip (OTSC) system (Padlock Clip™) in the treatment of 14 patients. Eight of the 14 patients were treated for closure of gastrointestinal fistulas (n = 4), iatrogenic gastrointestinal perforations (n =

Rho GTPases in Glioblastoma Mechanobiology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Brain tumors are a source of morbidity and mortality worldwide, especially in children and young adults. Due to the high rates of inherently disabling effects (such as personality changes, visual disturbances, and poor coordination), many patients with ...

Spatial and single‐nuclei transcriptomics reveals idiosyncratic and generic patterns in papillary and anaplastic thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Matched spatial transcriptomics and single‐nuclei RNA‐seq were generated for anaplastic and BRAFV600E papillary thyroid cancers revealing generic and tumor‐specific states occurring in cancer cells and in the tumor microenvironment. In this context, cancer dedifferentiation mirrored organoid maturation through ordered thyroid marker gain/loss ...

The Role of Rho/Rho-Kinase Pathway in the Pathophysiology of Absence Epilepsy

open access: yes, 2019
Objectives: Rho/Rho-kinase (ROCK) signaling has been shown to contribute to neuroinflammation, epileptogenesis, and seizures in convulsive-type epilepsy models.
