Label‐Free Leukocyte Biophysical Profiling Using Impedance‐Deformability Cytometry for Rapid Cardiovascular Risk Stratification

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents an impedance‐based single‐cell profiling platform that quantifies the electrical and mechanical properties of neutrophils across in vitro, in vivo, and clinical samples. The approach reveals distinct biophysical alterations associated with type 2 diabetes (T2DM) and cardiovascular complications, suggesting its potential utility for ...

Heart of glass anchors Rasip1 at endothelial cell-cell junctions to support vascular integrity. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Heart of Glass (HEG1), a transmembrane receptor, and Rasip1, an endothelial-specific Rap1-binding protein, are both essential for cardiovascular development.

Tobacco Smoke Exposure From Prenatal To Adolescent Periods Drives IBD Pathogenesis: Dynamic DNA Methylation Signatures Across Lifespan Stages

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study illustrates that maternal smoking during pregnancy (MSDP) is an independent risk factor for IBD in offspring, and DNA methylation serves as a key mechanistic pathway connecting early‐life smoking exposure with IBD risk in offspring. That highlights the urgent need for preventive interventions targeting prospective parents and minors to ...

Nuclear RhoA Activation Regulates Nucleus Size and DNA Content via Nuclear Activation of ROCK and pErk

open access: yesCells
RhoA is a major regulator of the actin cytoskeleton. Its function in the nucleus, however, is unclear. Fusing wildtype, fast cycling, constitutively active, and dominant negative forms of RhoA with tags promoting nuclear or cytoplasmic location and ...

GPCRs in CAR‐T Cell Immunotherapy: Expanding the Target Landscape and Enhancing Therapeutic Efficacy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chimeric antigen receptor T cell therapy faces dual challenges of target scarcity and an immunosuppressive microenvironment in solid tumors. This review highlights how G protein‐coupled receptors can serve as both novel targets to expand the therapeutic scope and functional modules to enhance CAR‐T cell efficacy.

Enriched environment reduces glioma growth through immune and non-immune mechanisms in mice [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Mice exposed to standard (SE) or enriched environment (EE) were transplanted with murine or human glioma cells and differences in tumour development were evaluated.

Sporadic Early-Onset Diffuse Gastric Cancers Have High Frequency of Somatic CDH1 Alterations, but Low Frequency of Somatic RHOA Mutations Compared With Late-Onset Cancers

open access: yesGastroenterology, 2017
BACKGROUND & AIMS: Early-onset gastric cancer, which develops in patients younger than most gastric cancers, is usually detected at advanced stages, has diffuse histologic features, and occurs more frequently in women.

Ginsenoside Rb1 protects against ischemia/reperfusion-induced myocardial injury via energy metabolism regulation mediated by RhoA signaling pathway

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Cardiac ischemia and reperfusion (I/R) injury remains a challenge for clinicians. Ginsenoside Rb1 (Rb1) has been reported to have the ability to attenuate I/R injury, but its effect on energy metabolism during cardiac I/R and the underlying mechanism ...

Integrin β3 Orchestrates Hepatic Steatosis via a Novel CD36‐Dependent Lipid Uptake Complex

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In MASH, ITGB3 recruits LYN and drives its ubiquitin‐proteasomal degradation via phosphorylation. This relieves DHHC5 inhibition, enabling ITGB3/DHHC5/CD36 complex assembly to enhance CD36 palmitoylation and fatty acid uptake, thereby exacerbating disease. Targeting ITGB3 blocks this pathogenic axis and ameliorates MASH.

Wnt Signaling in Neural Crest Ontogenesis and Oncogenesis. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Neural crest (NC) cells are a temporary population of multipotent stem cells that generate a diverse array of cell types, including craniofacial bone and cartilage, smooth muscle cells, melanocytes, and peripheral neurons and glia during embryonic ...
