Molecular characterisation of human penile carcinoma and generation of paired epithelial primary cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Generation of two normal and tumour (cancerous) paired human cell lines using an established tissue culture technique and their characterisation is described. Cell lines were characterised at cellular, protein, chromosome and gene expression levels and for HPV status.

Graded RhoA GTPase Expression in Treg Cells Distinguishes Tumor Immunity From Autoimmunity

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2021
RhoA of the Rho GTPase family is prenylated at its C-terminus. Prenylation of RhoA has been shown to control T helper 17 (Th17) cell-mediated colitis. By characterizing T cell-specific RhoA conditional knockout mice, we have recently shown that RhoA is ...

Wnt5a induces ROR1 to recruit cortactin to promote breast-cancer migration and metastasis. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
ROR1 is a conserved oncoembryonic surface protein expressed in breast cancer. Here we report that ROR1 associates with cortactin in primary breast-cancer cells or in MCF7 transfected to express ROR1.

Functions of p120ctn in development and disease [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
p120 catenin (p120ctn), a component of the cadherin-catenin complex, was the first member to be identified in a most interesting subfamily of the Armadillo family. Several p120ctn isoforms are generated by alternative splicing.

Altered TAOK2 activity causes autism-related neurodevelopmental and cognitive abnormalities through RhoA signaling

open access: yesMolecular Psychiatry, 2018
Atypical brain connectivity is a major contributor to the pathophysiology of neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs) including autism spectrum disorders (ASDs).

Complementary receptors control RhoA [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Cell Biology, 2008
![Graphic][1] Syndecan-4 and integrin both contribute to RhoA regulation. A pair of adhesion receptors work together to fine-tune suppression of RhoA and promote membrane protrusion, say [Bass et al][2].

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Activation of RhoA and SAPK/JNK signalling pathways by the RhoA-specific exchange factor mNET1 [PDF]

open access: yesThe EMBO Journal, 1998
We have characterized the DH domain protein mNET1, a Rho-family guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF). N-terminal truncation of mNET1 generates an activated transforming form of the protein, mNET1DeltaN, which acts as a GEF for RhoA but not Cdc42 or Rac1.

LOXHD1 and RHOB Expression by Monocytes Predicts Progressive Systemic Sclerosis associated Interstitial Lung Disease

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective A leading cause of death among scleroderma (SSc) patients, interstitial lung disease (ILD) remains challenging to prognosticate. The discovery of biomarkers that accurately determine which patients would benefit from close monitoring and aggressive therapy would be an essential clinical tool.

RhoA Is a Crucial Regulator of Myoblast Fusion

open access: yesCells, 2023
Satellite cells (SCs) are adult muscle stem cells that are mobilized when muscle homeostasis is perturbed. Here we show that RhoA in SCs is indispensable to have correct muscle regeneration and hypertrophy.
