At‐RS31 orchestrates hierarchical cross‐regulation of splicing factors and integrates alternative splicing with TOR‐ABA pathways

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Summary Alternative splicing is essential for plants, enabling a single gene to produce multiple transcript variants to boost functional diversity and fine‐tune responses to environmental and developmental cues. Arabidopsis thaliana At‐RS31, a plant‐specific splicing factor in the Serine/Arginine‐rich (SR) protein family, responds to light and the ...

Alternative Splicing Regulation in Metabolic Disorders

open access: yesObesity Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Alternative splicing (AS) is a fundamental mechanism for enhancing transcriptome diversity and regulating gene expression, crucial for various cellular processes and the development of complex traits. This review examines the role of AS in metabolic disorders, including obesity, weight loss, dyslipidemias, and metabolic syndrome.

Host‐induced gene silencing of the amino acid biosynthesis gene acetolactate synthase of Phytophthora infestans caused strong enhanced late blight resistance of potato in the field

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
Summary Late blight caused by Phytophthora infestans is the most serious disease of potatoes. Here we present the effectiveness of the host‐induced gene silencing (HIGS) technology against an amino acid biosynthesis gene of the pathogen to increase the resistance against the plant‐infecting oomycete in the field.
