The rigidity of certain cabled frameworks and the second-order rigidity of arbitrarily triangulated convex surfaces

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematics, 1980
rigid, then the whole surface is rigid. It had been suspected that any (connected) polyhedral surface, convex or not, (with its triangular faces, say, held rigid) was rigid, but this has turned out to be false (see Connelly [7]). W e extend Cauchy’s theorem to show that any convex polyhedral surface, no matter how it is triangulated, is rigid.

Counterion Dependent Side‐Chain Relaxation Stiffens a Chemically Doped Thienothiophene Copolymer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Oxidation of a thienothiophene copolymer, p(g3TT‐T2), via different doping strategies and dopant molecules resulted in materials with similar oxidation levels and a high electrical conductivity of ≈100 S cm−1. However, mechanical properties varied significantly, with sub‐glass transition temperatures and elastic moduli spanning from –44°C to –3°C and ...

Form-finding Analysis of Rigid Bracing Dome

open access: yes工程科学与技术, 2014
:In order to solve the problem that the cable sag of rigid bracing dome can not be ignored, cables were simulated by catenary cable element.According to Hooke’s law, small strain assuming and deformation compatibility equation, the calculation formula of ...

Experimental Investigation of a Cable Robot Recovery Strategy

open access: yesRobotics, 2021
Developing an emergency procedure for cable-driven parallel robots is not a trivial process, since it is not possible to halt the end-effector by quickly braking the actuators as in rigid-link manipulators.

Self‐Sintering Ionogel Binder for Flexible, Recyclable, and Healable Printed Giant Magnetoresistive Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Electronic waste has emerged as a major environmental challenge, driven by the massive consumption and a limited lifetime of modern electronic devices, stimulating the development of sustainable electronics. Here, an all‐biomaterial gelatin‐choline‐citric acid ([Ch][CA]) ionogel is developed as an active binder to realize self‐sintered ...

Impacts of traffic barrier types on crash severity

open access: yesTransportation Research Interdisciplinary Perspectives
Traffic barriers are known as one of the most popular safety countermeasures to minimize severe collisions from crossing medians and run-off-road at locations with non-traversable roadsides.

Electrocapillary Modulated Interfacial Tension Amplifies Liquid Metal Transduction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presented an electrocapillary‐enhanced magnetohydrodynamic pumping strategy that harnesses the Lorentz force and interfacial tension modulation of liquid metal droplets to achieve amplified fluidic power. The system enabled low‐voltage, self‐oscillating fluidic transduction with enhanced pressure and flow generation, supporting compact ...
