Highly Entangled Bottlebrush Polymer Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bottlebrush polymers are difficult to entangle, enabling ultrasoft yet brittle networks. We report highly entangled bottlebrush elastomers that remain ultrasoft (∼1 kPa) yet stretch to ∼1800% and exhibit exceptional fatigue resistance. Their intrinsic fatigue strength—fatigue threshold normalized by modulus—surpasses that of highly entangled linear ...

Optimization of Magnetic Milli‐Spinner for Robotic Endovascular Intervention

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work presents the design optimization of a multifunctional magnetic milli‐spinner for high‐speed propulsion and efficient clot debulking. The optimized design achieves an ultrafast swimming velocity of 55 cm/s (≈175 body lengths/s) in saline water, enabling stable upstream swimming against strong physiological flows and establishing magnetic milli‐

Design Methodology for Reducing RIN Level in DFB Lasers [PDF]

open access: yesIraqi Journal for Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2016
The relative intensity noise (RIN) characteristics in distributed feedback (DFB) lasers are analyzed theoretically by proposing a new methodology. In addition to temperature variation (T), the effect of other model parameters such as injection current ...

Mosquito Rasputin interacts with chikungunya virus nsP3 and determines the infection rate in Aedes albopictus

open access: yesParasites & Vectors, 2015
Background Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) is an arthritogenic alphavirus (family Togaviridae), transmitted by Aedes species mosquitoes. CHIKV re-emerged in 2004 with multiple outbreaks worldwide and recently reached the Americas where it has infected over a ...

CD4+ Tregs Drive Post‐Ischemic Sprouting Angiogenesis via Endothelial YY1/MAML1 Reactivation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Microvascular complications of diabetes are chronic diseases of small vessels. We previously found that CD4+ regulatory T‐cells (Tregs) are markedly reduced in type 2 diabetes (T2D) after ischemic injury in both mice and humans, and that Treg deficiency in immunodeficient mice impairs vascular regeneration.

Changing Lakes State?:Rin Tueny’s Inclusive Deterrence Approach in Practice [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Since Rin Tueny Mabor became governor of Lakes state in 2021, security has significantly improved. To pacify Lakes state, Rin Tueny has employed a heavy-handed, security-first approach that puts deterrence before compliance with human rights and other ...

FGF13 Deficiency Ameliorates Paclitaxel‐Induced Neuropathic Pain by Inhibiting VASH1‐Mediated Microtubule Detyrosination to Promote Mitophagy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
FGF13 is upregulated in DRG neurons of PIPNP model mice. DRG neuron‐specific knockout of FGF13 ameliorates PIPNP symptoms. Mechanistically, FGF13 potentiates microtubule detyrosination by promoting VASH1 binding to microtubules. FGF13 knockout suppresses VASH1‐mediated microtubule detyrosination and promotes α‐tubulin tyrosination.
