Cyclopentadienyl ring activation in organometallic chemistry and catalysis

Nature Reviews Chemistry, 2023
The cyclopentadienyl (Cp) ligand is a cornerstone of modern organometallic chemistry. Since the discovery of ferrocene, the Cp ligand and its various derivatives have become foundational motifs in catalysis, medicine and materials science. Although largely considered an ancillary ligand for altering the stereoelectronic properties of transition metal ...

Small ring chemistry in crop protection

Tetrahedron, 2019
Abstract An overview is given of the significance of three- and four-membered rings in crop protection chemistry. The main herbicidally, fungicidally, and insecticidally active small ring derivatives are presented, together with their synthesis routes, modes of action and biological efficacies.

Chemistry of the solanidane ring system

Journal of the Chemical Society C: Organic, 1971
The reaction of acetyldemissidine and acetylsolanidine with cyanogen bromide is described and the results of the lithium aluminium hydride reduction of the bromo-cyanamides so produced are discussed. The hydrolysis of acetyldemissidine bromo-cyanamide under very mild conditions caused a retro-von Braun reaction to afford the initial alkaloid.
