Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein H1 and its function in tumor development and metastasis

open access: yesShanghai Jiaotong Daxue xuebao. Yixue ban
Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein (hnRNP) and heterogeneous nuclear RNA (hnRNA) form complexes that regulate RNA splicing and transportation. hnRNPH1 is a member of the hnRNP family of proteins and plays an important role in physiological processes,

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Adenoviral Heterogeneous Nuclear RNA Is Associated with Host Cell Proteins [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Biochemistry, 1981
In this study irradiation of intact cells with 244-nm ultraviolet light was used to cross-link hnRNA to proteins that are closely associated with it. In this way proteins interacting specifically with hnRNA could be identified excluding the possibility of non-specific binding of proteins to the RNA during cell fractionation.

Base-specific ribonucleases potentially involved in heterogeneous nuclear RNA processing and poly(A) metabolism [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
Polyadenylation and splicing of heterogeneous nuclear RNA, two crucial steps in mRNA processing, are apparently enzymically mediated processes. This contribution summarizes the properties and the presumed functions of the known poly(A) catabolic enzymes (

Investigating transcription factor dynamics in health and disease using FRAP

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
FRAP analysis of GFP‐tagged transcription factors reveals how molecular mobility and target engagement change in response to drug treatment. By combining live‐cell imaging, quantitative model fitting, and statistical analysis, this approach uncovers transcription factor dynamics linked to disease mechanisms, providing a powerful framework for ...

HnRNPA1 Specifically Recognizes the Base of Nucleotide at the Loop of RNA G-Quadruplex

open access: yesMolecules, 2018
Human telomere RNA performs various cellular functions, such as telomere length regulation, heterochromatin formation, and end protection. We recently demonstrated that the loops in the RNA G-quadruplex are important in the interaction of telomere RNA ...

Generation of a heterozygous FUS-Q290X knock in human embryonic stem cell line (WAe009-A-83) using CRISPR/Cas9 system

open access: yesStem Cell Research, 2022
Fused in Sarcoma (FUS) gene encodes FUS RNA binding protein, a multifunctional protein component of the heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein complex, which is involved in pre-mRNA splicing and the export of fully processed mRNA to the cytoplasm, and ...

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins R and Q accumulate in pathological inclusions in FTLD-FUS

open access: yesActa Neuropathologica Communications, 2019
Frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD) is pathologically subdivided based on the presence of particular pathological proteins that are identified in inclusion bodies observed post-mortem. The FTLD-FUS subgroup is defined by the presence of the fused in
