The small nuclear RNAs of Drosophila
Journal of Molecular Biology, 1984We have investigated the sequences of the major small nuclear RNAs of Drosophila cultured cells, with the objective of elucidating phylogenetically conserved primary and secondary structures by comparison of the data with previously determined sequences of these RNAs in vertebrate species.

Small nuclear RNAs and translation
Journal of Cellular Physiology, 1983AbstractThe possibility that small nuclear RNA species U1 might be involved in the inhibition of protein synthesis that occurs during mitosis has been explored. Upon exposure of mitotic HeLa cell extracts to 1% sodium deoxycholate, the majority of the rapidly sedimenting U1 RNA shifted to lower sedimentation rates.

Nuclear Export of Small RNAs [PDF]
The machinery that exports small RNAs from the cell nucleus is fine-tuned to recognize when the processing of each class of RNA has been completed.
