Ultrathin Hydrogel Membranes Inspired by Soap Films Enable Physiologically Relevant Breathing Lung Models

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A soap‐film inspired strategy enables the fabrication of ultrathin yet robust GelMA‐PAAm membranes for breathing lung culture. The hydrogel membrane supports long‐term cyclic deformation under air‐liquid interface conditions, enabling physiologically relevant breathing motions of engineered lung tissue culture. ABSTRACT Breathing continuously stretches

Transient Cytoskeletal Anisotropy Encodes Short‐Term Mechanical Memory in Glioblastoma Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The same mechanical deformation can produce distinct cytoskeletal states depending on loading history. Experiments and constitutive modeling reveal that transient actin–vimentin anisotropy stores mechanical information and governs short‐term mechanical memory in glioblastoma cells.

Spatial Control of Light‐Responsive Proteins and Optogenetics Within Hydrogels via Volumetric Bioprinting

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Spatiotemporal control over cell behavior within bioprinted constructs remains a key challenge in biofabrication. Volumetric bioprinting using multi‐wavelength light sources permits to activate light‐sensitive intracellular proteins as well as optogenetic gene and protein expression circuits in bioprinted cells, in addition to enabling fast printing of

Electroactive 3D Porous Graphene Foam Impedimetric Biosensor for Ultrasensitive Detection of MCF‐7‐Cells‐Derived Extracellular Vesicles in Human Serum

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A label‐free impedimetric biosensor based on electroactive 3D porous graphene foam enables ultrasensitive and selective detection of CD81 protein and MCF‐7 cell‐derived extracellular vesicles in human serum. Detection limits of 0.048 fg/mL for CD81 and ∼24 EVs/mL are achieved, demonstrating a robust platform for selective, label‐free, and ...
