A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

5′ Unlocked Nucleic Acid Modification Improves siRNA Targeting
Optimization of small interfering RNAs (siRNAs) is important in RNA interference (RNAi)-based therapeutic development. Some specific chemical modifications can control which siRNA strand is selected by the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC) for gene ...

Identifying a New Gene Required for microRNA-mediated Gene Silencing in \u3cem\u3eDrosophila melanogaster\u3c/em\u3e [PDF]
Mature microRNAs (miRNA) are ~22 nucleotide long single-stranded ribonucleic acids essential for gene silencing. Silencing occurs when miRNAs are processed via endonucleolytic cleavage and subsequently associate with the miRNA-induced silencing complex ...

A bioinformatics screen identifies TCF19 as an aggressiveness‐sustaining gene in prostate cancer
Gene expression meta‐analysis in multiple prostate cancer patient cohorts identifies Transcription factor 19 (TCF19) as an aggressiveness‐sustaining gene with prognostic potential. TCF19 is a gene repressed by androgen signaling that sustains core cancer‐related processes such as vascular permeability or tumor growth and metastasis.

Condensin Promotes Position Effects within Tandem DNA Repeats via the RITS Complex
Summary: Tandem repetitive DNA is highly abundant in eukaryotic genomes and contributes to transcription control and genome stability. However, how the individual sequences within tandem repeats behave remains largely unknown.

Factors influencing Barley Stripe Mosaic Virus-mediated gene silencing in wheat [PDF]
Virus induced gene silencing (VIGS) is a technology that has been used primarily to target the virus genome in infected plants. However, if the virus genome carries inserts derived from the host plant, the system could be employed to target the mRNAs ...

This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.
