E2F1-dependent methyl cap formation requires RNA pol II phosphorylation

open access: yes, 2012
Gene expression is a process integral to cell proliferation. The E2F family of transcription factors upregulates expression of transcripts whose products are essential for cell cycle progression.

Glomage: A Multimodal Platform for High‐Content Morphological and RNA Profiling of Glomeruli in Zebrafish and Mouse Models

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Understanding how glomeruli, the kidney's filtration units, function in intact tissue remains challenging. Glomage enables rapid 3D imaging and quantitative analysis of entire glomeruli from zebrafish larvae and mice. This approach allows scalable cell quantification and detection of structural changes, advancing kidney disease research and ...

RNA triphosphatase-mediated mRNA capping is essential for maintaining transcript homeostasis and the survival of Toxoplasma gondii

open access: yesNature Communications
RNA modifications are crucial for gene expression in eukaryotes; however, the regulatory role of 5’ 7-methylguanosine (m7G) cap, the first modification of mRNA, remains unknown in the protozoan parasite Toxoplasma gondii.

DEAD-box RNA helicase 10 inhibits porcine circovirus type 3 replication by interacting with the viral capsid protein and activating interferon responses

open access: yesJournal of Virology
Porcine circovirus type 3 (PCV3) is an emerging pathogen that causes porcine dermatitis and nephropathy syndrome-like symptoms, multisystemic inflammation, and reproductive failure.

Cross‐Modal Denoising and Integration of Spatial Multi‐Omics Data with CANDIES

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this paper, we introduce CANDIES, which leverages a conditional diffusion model and contrastive learning to effectively denoise and integrate spatial multi‐omics data. We conduct extensive evaluations on diverse synthetic and real datasets, CANDIES shows superior performance on various downstream tasks, including denoising, spatial domain ...

Crystal Facet‐Polysaccharide Matching in CFS‐P Nanocrystals Drives Fungal Uptake, Vacuole Destruction, and Selective Antifungal Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Facet‐engineered PVP‐capped CuFeSe2 nanocrystals exhibit potent, selective antifungal activity by strongly binding cell‐wall mannan, enabling vacuolar entry and organelle disruption. High‐index facets show superior mannan affinity, validated by theoretical calculations and experiments. CFS‐P induces vacuolar cavitation, mitochondrial abnormalities, and

Towards a structural understanding of RNA synthesis by negative strand RNA viral polymerases

open access: yes, 2016
Negative strand RNA viruses (NSVs), which may have segmented (sNSV) or non-segmented genomes (nsNSV) are responsible for numerous serious human infections such as Influenza, Measles, Rabies, Ebola, Crimean Congo Haemorrhagic Fever and Lassa Fever.

tBid‐Mediated Genetic Ablation of Connective Tissue Cells Reveals Their Key Regulatory Function During Limb Regeneration in Axolotls

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We establish a tBid‐mediated cell ablation system in axolotls, achieve rapid and efficient ablation of multiple cell types, including muscle stem cell, spinal cord cell, and connective tissue (CT) cells. We investigate the role of CT using tBid‐mediated CT ablation and identify its essential role for limb development and regeneration.
