The RNA polymerase III-based two-hybrid system has been developed to detect interactions between proteins such as RNA polymerase II transcription factors and regulators that cannot be studied by the original RNA polymerase II two-hybrid system.

BRF Negatively Regulates Thermotolerance Defect of fes1a in Arabidopsis
FES1A is a heat shock protein 70 binding protein. Mutation of FES1A leads to a defect in thermotolerance of Arabidopsis; however, independent fes1a mutants exhibit a range in the extent of thermosensitivity.

A Single H1 Promoter Can Drive Both Guide RNA and Endonuclease Expression in the CRISPR-Cas9 System
The RNA-guided endonuclease Cas9 (CRISPR-Cas9) genome editing system has been widely used for biomedical research and holds great potential for therapeutic applications in eukaryotes. The conventional vector-based CRISPR-Cas9 delivery system requires two

MAF1, a repressor of RNA polymerase III-dependent transcription, regulates bone mass
MAF1, a key repressor of RNA polymerase (pol) III-mediated transcription, has been shown to promote mesoderm formation in vitro. Here, we show that MAF1 plays a critical role in regulating osteoblast differentiation and bone mass. Global deletion of MAF1

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

RNA Polymerase II Activity of Type 3 Pol III Promoters
In eukaryotes, three RNA polymerases (Pol I, II, and III) are responsible for the transcription of distinct subsets of genes. Gene-external type 3 Pol III promoters use defined transcription start and termination sites, and they are, therefore, widely ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.
