Robotic assembly cell

33rd Annual Frontiers in Education, 2003. FIE 2003., 2004
Results concerning the development of a robotic assembly cell are presented. The main components of the cell are a Kuka KR3 robotic manipulator and an Amtec PowerCube reconfigurable robotic manipulator. This paper presents an overview of the robotic assembly cell as well as results concerning its implementation and use.

Selective Robotic Assembly

4th Conference on Flexible Assembly Systems, 1992
Abstract A new approach to robotic high precision selective assembly is presented. The basis for this selective assembly is a gripper which both grips the part to be assembled along its mating planes and inspects its dimensions while gripping.

Robotized Assembly of Modular Fixtures

CIRP Annals, 1991
Summary A prototype plant for the robotized assembly of modular fixtures for NC machining centers is described. After presenting a brief summary of the present tendencies relative to the design, preparation and management of the fixtures, the plant and its components are described in their general structure, posing particular focus on the geometric ...

Intelligent Assembly Robot

1983
An experimental intelligent assembly robot comprising two articulated robots and a vision system has been developed. The pilot system is capable of visual recognition of location and orientation of parts which are randomly placed, and of performing coordinated motions of two arms.

Robotic assembly: chamferless peg-hole assembly

Robotica, 1999
The peg-in-hole insertion process is the most common task in the robotic/automatic assembly industry. However, the inaccuracy of the assembly robot in positioning the inserted peg into the hole due to the uncertainty of the assembly environment, represents an obstacle in this area of automation. To overcome this problem, complex and expensive equipment
