Optimal Design of Tuned Mass-Damper-Inerter for Structure with Uncertain-but-Bounded Parameter

open access: yesBuildings, 2022
In this study we focus on the H∞ optimization of a tuned mass damper inerter (TMDI), which is implemented on an harmonically forced structure of a single degree of freedom in the presence of stiffness uncertainty. Posed as a min-max optimization problem,

Parallel 3D Bioprinting on SLIPS‐Microarrays

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces the first truly parallel 3D bioprinting method, enabling both the simultaneous fabrication of hundreds of cell laden hydrogel 3D structures and their HTS in individual liquid compartments. By integrating Digital Light Processing (DLP) stereolithography with functional micropatterns, the platform decouples printing time from array ...

CFD Simulation Study on the Air Side of a CO2 Evaporator in a Motor Train Unit Air Conditioning System

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
At present, China’s high-speed rail is in a period of rapid development. Most of the refrigerants used in Chinese motor train units at this stage are still R134a and R407c, which have an impact on the environment.

Electrically Readable Lateral Flow Assay Using Organic Transistors for Diagnostic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Electrolyte‐gated organic field‐effect transistors (EGOFETs) are integrated with lateral flow (LF) paper fluidics to create a reusable, portable, and low‐cost point‐of‐care (PoC) diagnostic test. The devices are validated for Human Immunoglobulin G detection, achieving high sensitivity (0.1 fm), selectivity, and reproducibility with rapid results in 20–

Recoverable Robustness for Railway Rolling Stock Planning [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In this paper we explore the possibility of applying the notions of Recoverable Robustness and Price of Recoverability (introduced by [5]) to railway rolling stock planning, being interested in recoverability measures that can be computed in practice ...

Leaftronics: Bio‐Fractal Scaffolds From Leaf Venation for Low‐Waste Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
“Leaftronics” transforms naturally evolved leaf venation into quasi‐fractal scaffolds for sustainable electronics. Polymer‐infiltrated leaf skeletons can be used to fabricate ultra‐smooth, reflow‐ and thin‐film‐compatible decomposable substrates, while making the same lignocellulose networks conducting results in flexible transparent electrodes.
