The 1943 Iowa corn yield test

open access: yes, 1944
The Iowa Corn Yield Test attempts to make available an impartial evaluation of various hybrid combinations in respect to yielding ability, lodging resistance, maturity and other agronomic characteristics.

Saddlepoint Approximations for Optimal Unit Root Tests [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper provides a (saddlepoint) tail probability approximation for the distribution of an optimal unit root test. Under restrictive assumptions, Gaussianity and known covariance structure, the order of error of the approximation is given.

Studies on cocoyam (Xanthosoma spp.) in Nicaragua, with emphasis on Dasheen mosaic virus [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Cocoyam, Xanthosoma spp., is cultivated in tropical regions as a source of carbohydrates for human nutrition, for animal feed, and cash income for the farmers.

Root traits and yield in sugar beet: identification of AFLP markers associated with root elongation rate

open access: yes, 2010
Morpho-physiological and molecular analysis were conducted to identify useful root indexes of sugar beet nutrient uptake capacity and productivity. Root architectural parameters, root elongation rate, sulfate uptake rate and glucose and fructose content ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Variation in lentil (Lens culinaris Medik) in response to irrigation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
This study aimed to investigate the response of lentil genotypes to different water regimes, providing guide lines, through partitioning the variation, for a selection program for adaptation to irrigated conditions. The research was divided into two main

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated
