Boundary regularity, Pohozaev identities, and nonexistence results

open access: yes, 2017
In this expository paper we survey some recent results on Dirichlet problems of the form $Lu=f(x,u)$ in $\Omega$, $u\equiv0$ in $\mathbb R^n\backslash\Omega$. We first discuss in detail the boundary regularity of solutions, stating the main known results

Serotonin signaling through the 5-HT1B receptor and NADPH oxidase 1 in pulmonary arterial hypertension [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Objective: Serotonin can induce human pulmonary artery smooth muscle cell (hPASMC) proliferation through reactive oxygen species (ROS), influencing the development of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). We hypothesise that in PASMCs, serotonin induces

Tryptophan metabolite atlas uncovers organ, age, and sex‐specific variations

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Tryptophan metabolites were analyzed across twelve organs, the central nervous system, and serum in male and female mice at three life stages. We found tissue‐, sex‐, and age‐specific differences, including increased indole‐3‐pyruvate and kynurenine in aging males.

PRM navigation in trading drone and Gazebo simulation

open access: yesVisión Electrónica, 2020
Starting from a commercial drone AR Dron Parrot 2.0, an autonomous navigation process is developed with a PRM probabilistic route planner in real time, through a ROS network between the drone and the Gazebo simulation software.

Hypobranching Induced by Both Environmental Antioxidants and ROS Metabolism Gene Knockouts in Neurospora Crassa [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Previous work suggested a role of reactive oxygen species (ROS) metabolism on branch density, the statistical distribution of physical distances between branch points along a growing hypha in Neurospora. Here we report the results of experiments designed

Testing weighted splitting schemes on a one-column transport-chemistry model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
In many transport-chemistry models, a huge system of ODE’s of the advection-diffusion-reaction type has to be integrated in time. Typically, this is done with the help of operator splitting.

Overview of molecular signatures of senescence and associated resources: pros and cons

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cells can enter a stress response state termed cellular senescence that is involved in various diseases and aging. Detecting these cells is challenging due to the lack of universal biomarkers. This review presents the current state of senescence identification, from biomarkers to molecular signatures, compares tools and approaches, and highlights ...

Effects of Manganese Porphyrins on Cellular Sulfur Metabolism

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
Manganese porphyrins (MnPs), MnTE-2-PyP5+, MnTnHex-2-PyP5+ and MnTnBuOE-2-PyP5+, are superoxide dismutase (SOD) mimetics and form a redox cycle between O2 and reductants, including ascorbic acid, ultimately producing hydrogen peroxide (H2O2).

Effects of Polyphenols on Oxidative Stress-Mediated Injury in Cardiomyocytes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Cardiovascular diseases are the main cause of mortality and morbidity in the world. Hypertension, ischemia/reperfusion, diabetes and anti-cancer drugs contribute to heart failure through oxidative and nitrosative stresses which cause cardiomyocytes ...

An open source and reduce expenditure ROS generation strategy for chemodynamic/photodynamic synergistic therapy

open access: yesNature Communications, 2020
The therapeutic effect of reactive oxygen species (ROS)-involved cancer therapies is significantly limited by shortage of oxy-substrates, such as hypoxia in photodynamic therapy (PDT) and insufficient hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) in chemodynamic therapy (CDT)
