DNA methylation and epigenetic inheritance during plant gametogenesis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
In plants, newly acquired epigenetic states of transcriptional gene activity are readily transmitted to the progeny. This is in contrast to mammals, where only rare cases of transgenerational inheritance of new epigenetic traits have been reported (FASEB

Functional significance of U2AF1 S34F mutations in lung adenocarcinomas

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
The authors report a co-occurrence of the U2AF1 S34F splicing factor mutation and ROS1 translocations in lung adenocarcinomas and profile effects of S34F on transcriptome-wide RNA binding. They further show that U2AF1 S34F enhances invasive potential and

ROS1 protein-tyrosine kinase inhibitors in the treatment of ROS1 fusion protein-driven non-small cell lung cancers

open access: yesPharmacological Research, 2017
ROS1 protein-tyrosine kinase fusion proteins are expressed in 1-2% of non-small cell lung cancers. The ROS1 fusion partners include CD74, CCDC6, EZR, FIG, KDELR2, LRIG3, MSN, SDC4, SLC34A2, TMEM106B, TMP3, and TPD52L1. Physiological ROS1 is closely related to the ALK, LTK, and insulin receptor protein-tyrosine kinases.
