Agricultural Drone-Based Variable-Rate N Application for Regulating Wheat Protein Content

open access: yesDrones
Implementing a variable-rate application (VRA) of fertilization based on real-time crop growth status reduces costs and enhances work efficiency. However, the technical challenges associated with obtaining accurate growth-distribution maps and applying ...

Viscosity and Vortex Formation in a Liquid Placed in A Rotating Cylindrical Vessel

open access: yesEast European Journal of Physics, 2020
The free fall of steel balls of different diameters in viscous liquids placed in a cylindrical vessel at rest or rotating at a constant rate as well as the vortex generation in a liquid rotating in a cylindrical vessel were experimentally studied.

Basroparib inhibits YAP‐driven cancers by stabilizing angiomotin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Basroparib, a selective tankyrase inhibitor, suppresses Wnt signaling and attenuates YAP‐driven oncogenic programs by stabilizing angiomotin. It promotes AMOT–YAP complex formation, enforces cytoplasmic YAP sequestration, inhibits YAP/TEAD transcription, and sensitizes YAP‐active cancers, including KRAS‐mutant colorectal cancer, to MEK inhibition.

Targeting TNBC: core–shell polycationic polyurea dendrimers with inherent anticancer activity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Core–shell polycationic PURE dendrimers were tested in TNBC‐derived tumor models. Both formulations selectively targeted TNBC and effectively reduced tumor volume. PUREG4‐OEI48 suppressed tumor growth without detectable toxicity, whereas PUREG4‐OCEI24, despite showing efficacy, induced hepatic toxicity.

Defective wing development in black-headed gull (Larus ridibundus) - case report

open access: yesVeterinární Medicína, 2003
In 2000-2001 juvenile individuals of black-headed gull (Larus ridibundus) were repeatedly found in a Nadeje fishpond system in the Trebon Basin Area that were incapable of flying, with deformed wings.

Acoustic rotation control [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
A system is described for acoustically controlled rotation of a levitated object, which avoids deformation of a levitated liquid object. Acoustic waves of the same wavelength are directed along perpendicular directions across the object, and with the ...

Generalization of short coherent control pulses: extension to arbitrary rotations

open access: yes, 2008
We generalize the problem of the coherent control of small quantum systems to the case where the quantum bit (qubit) is subject to a fully general rotation. Following the ideas developed in Pasini et al (2008 Phys. Rev.

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

A simple novel technique for closure of simple and complex pilonidal sinus with either simple (tongueshaped) or bilobed rotation fl ap

open access: yesIndian Journal of Plastic Surgery, 2007
Background:Pilonidal sinus is a common disease in young adults that carries high postoperative morbidity and patients′ discomfort; controversy still exists regarding the best surgical technique for the treatment of the disease.

dUTPase is essential in zebrafish development and possesses several single‐nucleotide variants with pronounced structural and functional consequences

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
dUTPases are involved in balancing the appropriate nucleotide pools. We showed that dUTPase is essential for normal development in zebrafish. The different zebrafish genomes contain several single‐nucleotide variations (SNPs) of the dut gene. One of the dUTPase variants displayed drastically lower protein stability and catalytic efficiency as compared ...
