Photocatalytically Active Mechanically Interlocked Carbon Nanotubes

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 51, 11 September 2026.
Mechanically interlocked CNTs (MINTs) are studied as heterogeneous photocatalysts. Two different motifs are presented, which own enhanced activity versus homogeneous systems at very low loadings, high TON, excellent recyclability, varied scope and no leaching.

Recent Advances in the Synthesis of Ammonium-Based Rotaxanes

open access: yesMolecules, 2010
The number of synthetic methods enabling the preparation of ammonium-based rotaxanes has increased very rapidly in the past ten years. The challenge in the synthesis of rotaxanes results from the rather weak interactions between the ammonium-containing ...

Rotaxane-catalyzed aerobic oxidation of primary alcohols

open access: yesCommunications Chemistry
Nitroxide radicals are widely utilized as catalysts for the oxidation of primary alcohols. Here, the aerobic catalytic oxidation cycle of nitroxide radicals has been implemented within a mechanically interlocked rotaxane architecture consisting of a ...

Influence of Novel Supramolecular Substance, [2] Rotaxane, on the Caspase Signaling Pathway in Melanoma and Colon Cancer Cells In Vitro

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacological Sciences, 2013
We studied the influence of novel supramolecular substance, [2] rotaxane (TRO-A0001), on caspase signaling and cell viability in cancer cell lines. TRO-A0001 suppressed concentration-dependently cell proliferation.

Second generation specific-enzyme-activated rotaxane propeptides

open access: yes, 2012
A [2]rotaxane, in which the peptidic axle is protected from degradation by the macrocyclic sheath and terminated with a novel glycosidase-cleavable stopper, is rendered water-soluble by derivatisation with tetra(ethylene glycol) (TetEG) or glucosylated ...

How Secondary and Tertiary Amide Moieties are Molecular Stations for Dibenzo-24-crown-8 in [2]Rotaxane Molecular Shuttles?

open access: yesMolecules, 2017
Interlocked molecular machines like [2]rotaxanes are intriguing aesthetic molecules. The control of the localization of the macrocycle, which surrounds a molecular axle, along the thread leads to translational isomers of very different properties ...
