Chemical inducer of regucalcin attenuates lipopolysaccharide‐induced inflammatory responses in pancreatic MIN6 β‐cells and RAW264.7 macrophages

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, Volume 12, Issue 1, Page 175-191, January 2022., 2022
Derrisfolin A, a chemical inducer of regucalcin, attenuated lipopolysaccharide‐induced inflammatory responses in pancreatic MIN6 β‐cells. Regucalcin in MIN6 cells and RAW264.7 macrophages also blocks inflammatory interaction between both cells in a transwell coculture system.

Oxidative stress parameters and keap 1 variants in T2DM: Association with T2DM, diabetic neuropathy, diabetic retinopathy, and obesity

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, Volume 36, Issue 1, January 2022., 2022
Studying 400 T2DM patients without complication indicated: In T2DM patients without complication, the GPx and TAC levels decreased and the MDA level elevated. T2DM with neuropathy had lower levels of GSH, GPx, and TAC and higher levels of TOS, MDA, and OSI and a higher frequency of Keap1 AA genotype.

Deguelin Attenuates Non‐Small‐Cell Lung Cancer Cell Metastasis by Upregulating PTEN/KLF4/EMT Signaling Pathway

open access: yesDisease Markers, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
Non‐small‐cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the most common lung cancer and a major cause of cancer mortality worldwide. Deguelin plays a vital inhibitory role in NSCLC initiation and development. However, the downstream mechanism of deguelin‐suppressed metastasis of NSCLC cells is still not completely understood.

Effects of Rotenoids on Isolated Plant Mitochondria [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Physiology, 1984
The effects of several rotenoids have been studied on potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) tuber and etiolated mung bean (Phaseolus aureus Roxb.) hypocotyls mitochondria. The selective inhibition of mitochondrial complex I is characterized by several tests: (a) no effect can be observed on exogenous NADH or succinate oxidation; (b) malate oxidation is ...

Reducing Postharvest Loss of Stored Grains Using Plant‐Based Biopesticides: A Review of Past Research Efforts

open access: yesAdvances in Agriculture, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
The world population is projected to be 9.1 billion by the year 2050, and about 70% extra food will be required. One of the main challenges regarding food security is postharvest loss due to insect pests. The overall postharvest grain losses for sub‐Saharan Africa could be as high as US$4 billion/year.

Biopesticides from Amorpha fruticosa, Can We Turn the Dice and Use This Aggressive Invasive Arboreal as Economically Prospective Source of Compounds Capable to Control Pests on Crops? [PDF]

open access: yesResearch Journal of Pharmacognosy
The global decline of pollinators and particularly the decline of bumblebees is a well-proven fact. Their conservation is a leading task in searching for new biopesticides. Amorpha fruticosa L. (Fabaceae) is alien invasive plant in all parts of the world.
