Synthesis and chemical shifts of five new rotenoids.
Five new rotenoids are prepared using the synthetic approach developed by Pastine and Sames with some modifications. The 1H and 13C NMR resonances were assigned completely with certainty using a concerted application of one- and two-dimensional ...

Antiplasmodial and larvicidal flavonoids from Derris trifoliate
From the dichloromethane-methanol (1:1) extract of the seed pods of Derris trifoliata, a new flavanone derivative (S)-lupinifolin 4´-methyl ether was isolated. In addition, the known flavonoids lupinifolin and rotenone were identified.

Isoflavones and Rotenoids from the Leaves of Millettia brandisiana
A new isoflavone, 4'-gamma,gamma-dimethylallyloxy-5,7,2',5'-tetramethoxyisoflavone, brandisianin A (1), was isolated from the leaves of Millettia brandisiana, along with one synthetically known isoflavone, 7,4'-di-O-prenylgenistein (2) and twelve known compounds. The structures were elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic analysis.

Flavanones and rotenoids from the roots of Amorpha fruticosa L. that inhibit bacterial neuraminidase
Neuraminidase is a proven target in anti-viral drug development. It also appears to be important for infection by certain pathogenic bacteria and has been implicated in biofilm formation.

Highly variable insect control efficacy of Tephrosia vogelii chemotypes
Tephrosia vogelii has been used for generations as a pest control material in Africa. Recently, two chemotypes have been reported based on the occurrence (chemotype 1) or absence (chemotype 2) of rotenoids.
